Mesa is down 3-0 in the 5th. Looking at the box, there are a few things of note:

  • 17-year old Larry Suarez got the start and fared much better in his second appearance of the season, though he displayed more poor control - 2 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 0 K/2 BB.

    18-year old Francisco Acosta made his U.S. debut and gave up 2 unearned runs: 1 IP, 2 R, 3 H, 0 K/1 BB.

18th rounder Jeffrey Rea, a 2B at Mississippi State, is making his pro debut...at CF.

Josh Donaldson threw 1 out of 2 potential base stealers today, meaning he's thrown out 2 of 3 in two games.

Dylan Johnston (1/1, double, 2 walks) broke his bat on his double and the other end of his bat hit a little girl in the stands. She had to get medical attention but looked like she was leaving the ballpark on her own power. :?
