One decent-sized classroom at Ole Miss will put to shame those butterfaces...

agreed

Seriously. I've given seminars before at Ole Miss and Alabama, and my god--the coeds at these schools are not for the feint of heart. It's like a Hooters cattle call, nothing like midwestern schools. I was at Alabama on a warm spring day in April, and well....they dress rather suggestive nowadays, don't they? Whew! I think I saw more belly rings in one day than I have my entire life.

i really don't care that the Cubs paid for his salary or if we got nothing in return. The guy was terrible this year and he is expendable. Addition by subtraction.

Can we get a new thread with news links please? Reading through this thread sucks.

Yeah, I feel bad for the people who are going to come on later and find this thread. It's a disaster at this point.

Looking at the Greensboro roster, they have a pitcher with a ridiculous 74/5 K/BB ratio.

something tells me we won't be getting him...

why not...jacque's at bats are at a ridiculous 74/5 K/BB ratio

I don't care who come up from the Marlins, as long as Jacque is gone I'm fine with it. I'll be the PTBNL if that's what it takes.

If this is true, does that mean that Dempster isn't going on the DL?

They said not West and not Taylor...I'm betting Leroux...

is he any good? Second question, independent of the first.....has he been called up yet?

From the Marlins board earlier in the thread.

Joe Capozzi sheds a little more info in the PBP

MIAMI GARDENS — Are the Marlins close to finding a new center fielder?

Rumors in Chicago and Florida have the Cubs sending Jacque Jones to the Marlins along with a player to be named and $1 million cash in exchange for a pitcher from Class A Greensboro.

Sources at Dolphin Stadium today said the deal was done, but sources in Chicago said it was still in the works.

Jones, 31, is owed another $7.12 million over the next two seasons.

A left-handed hitter, Jones has played all three outfield positions during a nine-year big-league career that began with the Twins.

It is unclear who the minor-league player will be, but left-hander Graham Taylor is a possible candidate.

Yeah-the Marlins board says it's not him. Apparently he only throws about 87 anyway. They claim it's a pitcher on that roster other than him and one other guy (who's name escapes me right now).

Kyle Winters? That's the only pitcher at Greensboro who I know anything about prospect-wise.
