Trevor Hoffman got to 500 saves

Sammy Sosa hit #600

Frank Thomas is 1 short of 500

A-Rod is 8 away form 500

Bonds of course

Griffey is 16 away from 600

Jim Thome 19 away from 500

Manny Ramirez is 19 away from 500

Biggio is 4 hits from 3,000

Glavine is 4 wins from 300

I think that's all of the really big milestones, if all those reached this year that would be amazing.

I dunno if Manny and Thome will get there this year based on their performances thus far, but there's no legitimate reason, barring unforseen circumstances, that all the rest won't happen. Don't forget that if/when Pedro Martinez comes back, he's only 2 strikeouts shy of 3,000 for his career.

Yeah Manny & Thome could be a long shot, fwiw MLB.com Milestone tracker has Thome getting 500 this year but Manny next year.

They should switch that. I would say Manny is more likely to get there this year.

Sheffield getting 500 as well?

He lashed that one today... well, yesterday... into the stands.

Frank Thomas did, Sheffield still in the 470s. He's another tweener between this year and next... probably next.

I was meaning Sheffield, sorry. That was long gone, and at speed.

Sheff's needs 45 HR's this year IIRC to get 500. He's got 18 right now which would mean he needs 27 in the second half of the year which I don't see him getting. He'll finish with about 490 (assuming he doesn't get hurt this year) and get to 500 early next year.

Barry Bonds has 2896 hits and needs 104 more to get 3000.

Could get it this year. I doubt it.

Not with all the walks he'll draw. I have a feeling a lot of pitchers will walk him more and more as he gets closer to the record, just so they won't be the team or the pitcher who gives up that acheivement

Eh. I'd hit him. I'd aim for his hip, too. So he cant take it off his body armor.

But, as it has been established before, I'm a jerk.

Yeah. Bonds only has 56 hits this year. There's no way he gets there in 2007.
