Otto says Black is arguing about DeRosa's foot possibly coming off the bag, and apparently it didn't.

 

It was close. It's hard to tell, but it looks like his foot is still on the bag. It's on the side of the bag away from the Padres dugout though, so Bud would not have been able to see it from his vantage point.

if that was said there wouldn't be a mob in the world that coulda pulled dlee off of chris young. all you would've heard was that noise you hear in rocky when he's punching the meat in the processing plant as young's face gets reconstructed by lee's fist.

I have to give props to the 1b ump there. THat is what an Ump is supposed to do when a Manager comes out and argues. He remains calm, doesn't yell back and just shrugs his shoulders. How can the manager keep being upset when the ump isn't giving him a reason to be.

 

Good job. If the ump that Lou got mad at did something like that then Lou would have just gotten kicked out and not suspended.

For Young's sake I hope he didn't say that. I doubt he did, don't think he'd have the time given how the events unfolded, and I wouldn't trust a random post at ESPN anyways. But I still believe Young said something that deserved a fist to his head.

It was close. It's hard to tell, but it looks like his foot is still on the bag. It's on the side of the bag away from the Padres dugout though, so Bud would not have been able to see it from his vantage point.

I don't blame him for arguing, especially since we've seen proof that coming out, arguing, and keeping your cool is usually good for getting a call in your favor in the near future.
