It looked like Young asked if Lee was alright, then motioned him toward first base, and said "I'm not throwing at you." I hate to say it, but I don't see anything that Young did wrong and I have no idea what set Lee off.

why are you so intent in defending young?

I'm not defending Young, I'm just looking at it from an objective perspective and Lee looks like the bad guy in this one.

No he doesn't

Lee was the first one to throw a punch. if there was nothing racial said, it's Lee's fault, plain and simple.

Go cheer for the Padres.

It has nothing to do with cheering for the Padres. I want the Cubs to win, but I'm not watching the game with my Cubs blinders on. The visual evidence is pointing toward Lee starting the fight without any significant verbal provocation.

if nothing was said, he was hit high and young was smirking at him--at the very least.

Young hit him on purpose! You have to believe it considering what the Padres said in the paper yesterday. They threatened to bean someone.

it's freakin baseball. beanballs are the way wrongs are settled in baseball. that is why the umps action in Atlanta blew the entire thing. they didn't let the players settle it the way players have settled if for the past 150 years.

it still makes me laugh that z's belt came off. like he was in the bathroom and couldn't be bothered to get completely dressed before bolting onto the field.

Jumping to such conclusions based on limited lip reading angles does not make you objective.

I really got to give it to Marcus Giles for getting Young out of the way. Nice work.

Where was the Catcher in all this? I can't believe nobody walked down the first base line with Lee.

arguing with the ump for some inexplicable reason.

Crap...when are Ramirez and Ward due to come back? We sure could use them, ASAP.

Ward on Tuesday and Ramirez on Friday-so at most the Cubs would have to have 1 game without Ward and 4 without Ramirez, but if Lee appeals both of them will likely be back before he has to start serving the suspension.

He was talking to the ump. That ump has to be in between them. What was he doing?

Given Lee's reputation, and the fact that we didn't see everything Young said to Lee (and we saw everything Lee said), there's no way you can judge anything yet.
