I honestly can't remember another team quite like this. 2004 comes close, but I don't remember this many heartbreaks on a daily basis.

no, that team actually won more games than they lost, plus they bunched most of their chokes up toward the end of the year. this team knew how to choke from day one.

Maybe this team will get their choking done early and cruise through the end of their schedule and into the playoffs.

Just a thought. :)

Kinda like in 2003.

Edit: I meant the regular season. We all know the choke in the playoffs.

If you're going to lose, just get it over with in the 1st inning. I don't need another 13 inning 4+ hour sit through. I'm trying to have a life you know!

And yet we are only 5 games out! I really believe someone with a below .500 record will take the Central.

The only way that can happen is if you break your tv and your pc. All of them.

The trick is to watch the game at a bar. If the Cubs start making you pissed off, you've got music, booze, and women around to distract you.

And my Cell phone...I'm sick enough that I check (and refresh) my phone for the Cubs score at a resturant. Drives my Wife crazy!

I used to do that but I just had a baby boy 3 weeks ago. So I stopped drinking and going out for a while. Try getting through a Cubs season without getting hammered. It's a living hell man!

Exactly like 2003...except for not choking again at the very end.

miguel batista sucks slightly more than the cubs.

cubs win 9-7 in preparation for the slugfest that is marquis/weaver. Any chance the wind blows out for that one?

I don't know about the wind, but lots of other things having been blowing at Wrigley lately.

Its lame being the fan of a team that has absolutely no heart.

And yet I keep hoping...

Having Heart isn't the problem, it's lacking the skills to close out games...They are battling on a daily basis.

Then I guess I should say a team that has tons of heart but sucks.

exhibit A, battling deep into counts only to strike out foolishly

dont suck tonight
