Did you guys see the girl with A-rod on the front cover of the NY Post?

At least he wasn't out all night playing cards and dropping a few hundred grand, you know?

I know it's a bad pic, but that chick looks a little beat...ARod can't do better? Or is he settling for a double when he could have had a triple.

While I'm strongly against most forms of cheating, those that rely on the stupidity of your opponents don't bother me so much. As long as he didn't yell directly into this guy's ear (causing him pain) I have a hard time caring.

Arod winds up seeming clever here, and how offten does a baseball player pull that off?

Oh, and in an almost entirely unrelated statement, I was once playingg basketball as a kid when a guy on the other team stole the ball from one of our players. he charged down the court and was well on his way to getting an easy basket when our biggest, most hyper-pubescent player screamed at him. He dropped the ball and fefll over.

This is ridiculous. Any smart baseball player would do this. What's bush league is the idiot John McDonald bitching about it after he let himself get so easily drawn away from the task at hand, catching an absurdly easy pop-up.

If shouting at someone can cause a team to win then the Cubs would have another World Series win by now...

The Yankees were UP at the time. If they were down and this shout caused the Blue Jays to lose the game, then it would be a much bigger story. As it stands, it's much ado about nothing. The Jays didn't score any in the bottom of the 9th. They would have lost 7-5 instead of 10-5. Boo hoo.

I actually agree with the ARod critics. It's an unwritten but respected rule that you don't fake an infielder's "mine" call on a pop fly. Remember when Neifi had that habit of sneaking peeks back at the catcher when batting? There's no explicit rule against that either, but it's understood that you just don't do it. I always hated seeing Neifi do it and considered it an embarrassment for the Cubs. Watching ARod I had a similar reaction.

it's definitely a bush move on Rodriguez' part. no, its not against the rules, but there are plenty of things not against the rules that you shouldn't due.

juan uribe deked derrek lee a few years ago into thinking there was a foul ball when it was actually fair. in my opinion, its a similar situation.

it was a game at wrigley either in '05 or '06. prior was pitching for the cubs. somebody hit one down the right field line, lee approached 2nd base and was heading towards 3rd. uribe's at 2nd with his hands in the air. lee slow down and looks to right field where the ball was. he realizes its fair and only gets to 3rd, but he could've/should've scored if he had kept running.

Yeah, whatever it was, the first sound appeared to be a B.

It looked like he yelled "mine" to me.

Where are you watching this? I only saw the clip on MLB.com and it's absolutely impossible to even tell he yelled anything at all.
