I've already got Adrian Gonzalez on my team, so I have a decent substitute at 1B...

I have no shortage of SP though....

I'm leaning towards no...

I'd say no. I might trade Gonzalez for Z.

That was the initial offer, and he counter-offered with this.

Even with Z performing how he should, I'd rate Fielder above him. Fielder is going to be a monster. He's already VERY good. I'd say he's a top 25 player right now and Z, when pitching how he should, is just a notch below that.

So yeah, I'd say no.

How badly does this guy need a 1B? Can you toss in another player you won't miss w/ Gonzalez?

No, no, and no. As much as I love Z (and hate him, this year), Fielder will be a Top 5 1B talent this year... he already is right now. PECOTA had him hitting 31HR 101RBI with a .292AVG

I'd say he's on pace to shatter that (at least HR and RBI). He's on pace for 40 or so HR already. Z is on pace for bubkis

EDIT: According to Yahoo!, Prince Fielder is the #1 first baseman in the game right now fantasy wise. I would not buy low on Zambrano if you're giving up the best 1B in fantasy right now. As far as 1B go, I'd offer him Helton for Zambrano, who is rtanked the 10th best 1B. Zambvrano is not worth a Top 5 talent, at least not right now. As long as you have Gonzalez backing up Fielder that's fine. You can afford to sit Fielder/Gonzalez during their slumps cause they each back each other up well. Zam,brano plays eveyr 5 days so you're bound to start him every chance you get, and his inconsistency can and probably will hurt your team's ERA and WHIP

EDIT #2: I just realized that you and I both have the same 1B tandem. I have Fielder and Gonzalez in another league of mine as well

There is no way I'd make that deal. Granted, I purposely avoid Cubs on my fantasy teams if I can.

me too, but I do have Lee and Ramirez in most of my leagues.

I usually end up with Barrett since for some reason no one wants a great hitting catcher, but his performance this season may make this the last time that happens.

Last year I would have done it in a heartbeat. This year I wouldn't trade either Gonzalez or Fielder for Zambrano. Even though they both play 1B, one of them can be used at U. And I'm getting less optimistic by the start that Zambrano will turn it around this year.

Me too.

I nixed the trade, and am no longer gonna trade for Zambrano. I just don't think I'm paying low enough with A. Gonzalez.

Hahah. Persistence and Z's sucking has paid off.

I got him for Randy Wolf.

Solid trade

Whoa. That seems more than a little bit lopsided.
