Why doesn't Theriot get more media love? He's pretty much exactly like Eckstein and Erstad and those other grinders, except, you know, a good baseball player.

I don't know why "media love" matters at all, but for what it's worth, ESPN's started pronouncing his name right (as opposed to Tear-ee-ott) and calling him The Riot, and Tim Kurkjian says he's a very talented ballplayer and really likes him playing every day and leading off.

One of the announcers last week - I think it was during ESPN's broadcast of the Cubs-Mets game on Monday - was pronouncing it Tar-ee-oh like it was spelled Thariot.

which is the correct pronunciation if he chooses to pronounce it the hispanic way. I don't think he does, however
