1B Brian Dopirak and LHP Tim Layden to Daytona, LHP Jerry Blevins (he of a 0.38 ERA and 32 Ks in 23.2 innings with the D-Cubs) up to Tennessee.

Discuss.

This certainly stinks. I've certainly missed the DOPESLAP...hopefully he can recover his mojo in Daytona.

Beginning of the end for Dope?

Beginning? No, that was 2005. This may be more like the end of the end.

No doubt. I never expected him to lose this much power - the other struggles, sure, but the plummet in power has been the biggest disappointment.

Aw hamburgers.

Looks like it just wasn't meant to be for Dope. Too bad about that ankle injury.

Another raw power guy/nothing else from HS bites the dust indeed.

Dope is a long shot to ever make it. It's a shame, but it happens. I'm more dissapointed that Harvey never developed as I am over Dopirak. I always felt Harvey had a higher ceiling.

unfortunately he had quite a floor as well

If you ask me, that floor is quite shoddy and unstable. There appears to be a lot of unsafe spots that can cause him to fall right through to an even lower level.

I'm hoping that he falls onto a pitcher's mound at that lower level.

yay to Jerry for the promotion - he's a great guy and am glad to see him getting back to where he was when he was with the Chiefs a couple of years ago.
