i think i may have had owings at some point...
That's possible. I know I picked him up in the draft or as a free agent (I forget which) before this season started, and I can't imagine him not having been owned by somebody at some time considering his top prospect status.

i thought i may have traded him to you...

i think i traded kemp at some point...maybe in the soriano deal. my filthy hands have been on just about everyone.

Funny, I feel the same way.

Yea, I got Kemp in one of our trades. Soriano for Beckett and Kemp?

Actually, you're right. I was curious so I went back and checked, and he was one of the players you traded me for Vlad last year. For some reason I was thinking I picked him up more recently. I may have been thinking of Salty, whom I picked up after Chris dropped him.

Hey Chris. Not that it really matters much at this point, but I think your substitution of Valverde for Pena would be considered illegal.

I suppose I could be wrong, but if you have 3 healthy relievers on your active roster, trading for another doesn't necessarily mean you can automatically insert a new one into your active roster.

If you traded an active reliever for another reliever, which left you short a reliever, then it would be appropriate to insert your new reliever in. Or if you dropped one of your active relievers to make room for your new reliever, that would be okay, too.

Isn't that right?

And if it is right, I propose a 150 point deduction for an illegal roster move. :D

I'd still be losing.

I originally had Kemp, but traded him somewhere for someone.

if you make a mid-week trade, you can substitute your new guy into the lineup. at least that's my understanding.

I thought that was the case and I substituted my new guy into the lineup already - if this isn't the case, lemme know so I can change things back. :?

My bad. I guess I was thinking since we can move a starter that I could move a reliever. I switched them back for tomorrow's lineup. We'll get the scoring changed if AZ gets back in the game and gets Jose a save chance.

Speaking of a save chance, good job by the Rockies leaving Corpas out to get slaughtered rather than going to Fuentes for a possible 5 out save. They let him go on and give up a crap load of runs and then get a reliever warming. Here's how Corpas looked before finally making an out:

Nonsense, the lead is under 100. This could be a choke job of monumental proportions.

My team has been truly putrid this week, especially my previously reliable starting pitching. Hopefully they're getting the suckiness out of their system all at once and will get back on the winning track next week.

What a difference, beating a 5-0 team one week and getting pulverized by a 1-5 team the next week. Maybe my players were overconfident.

Or maybe the quality of my team isn't that of a 1-5 team.

There's that, too.

I'm up 111, but Quakers has 3 more starts to my 0. And he has the option of having 2 of those starts being White Sox pitchers against the Cubs offense...I'm in trouble.

No confidence in the Cubs' offense? I'm shocked! :^o

7 ip, 11 tba, 3 er, 6 k's, 2 bb's, win gets only 15.5 points...that kinda sucks. would have been a lot more last year.

i'm interested to see what the pitching points look like at the end of the season.

Holy crap, I may have the single worst pitching day in Roadkill history. Negative points from Moyer and Aardsma even before overnight deductions, and single-digit positive points from Reyes that will probably turn negative after deductions. At least Aardsma's was for a good cause. :D

Oh well, if I'm going to lose I may as well lose in style.

Just don't warm up until after we play.

This could be the best week ever for the Dishmans. We're pushing the 300 point mark and still have 2 starts remaining. I smell a 160 point week next week.
