I just wish we had another masher who we could stick out there in rightfield. One who hits 45 homers a year so we could live with subpar defense.

I really wish we could trade Jones + a couple of good minor league arms to the Yanks for Abreu. I know, I know - never happen.

Nah, but we could have spent a little more last year and added Carlos Lee as well.

That error hurts.

Once again, I find myself wondering what possible reason Lou has for playing our LF in RF, and a person whose skillset matches that of a RF in LF.

The OF is in shambles.

It would be pretty funny if they put Soriano in RF, and pretty much destroyed any notion of putting him in one spot and not moving him around. That would make all three of spots and 2B.

The Murton apologists are absolutely shameless. High school kids should be able to routinely catch that flyball.

I doubt that, but that's cool.

Is anybody saying otherwise?

He should have caught that one, the first mistake is the one that isn't shocking seeing as he's learning a new position. It was an awful route and one that a person who isn't used to the position would take.

ok, i just woke up, saw the last half inning, how did the first 3 runs happen?

Freddy Sanchez HBP.

Jose Bautista doubles to RF, Sanchez to third base.

Jason Bay pops a double to shallow RF, Sanchez and Bautista score. 2-0 Pirates.

Ryan Doumit singles to CF, Bay to third base.

Xavier Nady hits a sac fly to LF, Bay scores. One out, 3-0 Pirates.

Errant pickoff throw by Z, Doumit advances to second base.

Adam LaRoche flies out to CF. Two outs.

Ronny Paulino strikes out looking. Three outs.

thanks

THANK YOU.

Holy...

You mean, there's actually another person on this board that realizes Soriano playing out of position isn't helping the team?

Yeah, but he doesn't want to play 2B anymore.

With the way DeRosa has been batting lately we might not have a choice.

It's a freaking error. Everybody has them. Shameless? The only thing shameless is your blatant selective perception.

ESPN.com had this thing called the "Brett Favre Excuse-o-Matic", making fun of all the people who rationalize every poor play that Brett Favre makes. I'm reminded of that here.

What the hell murton. Hes always been pretty sure handed.

Not really. Plus, he's playing out of position.

That fly ball had nothing to do with playing out of position. Neither did the first one, really. The guys is an OF he should catch a routine flyball and keep balls that drop in front of him from getting past him.

Didn't Jack Wilson just have a three error game? God, people, its just a game. He's still an average defender having a bad day, not the other way around.

They wouldn't have that if brett played for the Yankees.

There is a reason the Red Sox dumped him in the trade. If Jones had dropped the fly ball, everybody here and their mama would be lynching Jacque Jones like it was the era of slavery.

I don't know. I think he's worse than average playing RF.
