2005 Macias and his .316 SLG (that's right, SLG) along with his 54 OPS+ want in on the all time worst team.

 

 

Was Lenny Harris's OPS higher than .316 in 2003? Okay I know it was but I am thinking it was below .500 in something like 140 ABs.

Yeah-if you have 100 AB's as your qualification for a bench player (which seems reasonable) Lenny Harris almost has to be the 2003 representative.

Mark Grace's best years ('89 and '95) don't come close to Derrek Lee in '05.

 

Exactly. Grace's best year was '95 with an OPS+ of 143 (.911 OPS for the season). Lee's '05 OPS+ was 177 (1.080 OPS for the season).

 

Lee's the much better choice.

If you're building a team of worsts based on some guys' worst years, then I think you should throw in Girardi, Dernier and Dunston into the mix. Those guys had some really piss poor seasons where they racked up a lot of playing time.
