Ron Santo made his return to the radio booth today. I wouldn't have started a thread on this, though, if it weren't for this line in the Cubs.com article on it:

Santo, who is in his 18th year as the Cubs' radio analyst, does not plan on cutting back on any road trips, although he will not go with the team to Washington and Pittsburgh July 2-8.

Uh, Carrie, thats what we call cutting back on road trips.

Well if he has a doctor's appointment, etc....

I consider "cutting back" to be skipping trips or parts of trips regularly, making it to significantly fewer games. Not missing one trip, two months from now.

That's fantastic.

Santo has historically not made the road trip that includes the series in Washington. Apparently RFK is very difficult for him to get around in.

Santo also did the 7th inning stretch today. Boy was he excited.

After a 0-4 start, a comeback, and a great escape? Who with a heart wouldn't be!? :D
