Rafael Furcal and Mark Teahen were dropped in one of my leagues (18 teams). One owner was dying to get rid of Smoltz (for practically nothing) and another owner dropped Buehrle the day after he pitched a no-hitter. So, yeah, I've been in a league like that.

That's not necessarily a bad move.

I would have traded him instead of dropping him. You know someone would see the no-hitter and pay a king's ransom for him.

Yeah, I guess I should have added that there is a 50 inning minimum in my league and that there are 18 teams. So pitching is very very limited. Therefore, dropping Buehrle, or any starting pitcher with an ERA under 5 is not too wise.

Oh yeah, and I just took advantage of that guy dying to get rid of Smoltz. Gave him Austin Kearns and Tom Gorzelanny and got Smoltz AND Jason Bay in return. And somehow the trade was allowed to go through.

Wow. Where do I sign up for that league? :D

Haha, yeah. It's not really fun. I'm in two keeper leagues and wanted to do a yearly league so I could do a draft. I'm also a fantasy baseball nut so I wanted a big league. Apparently its hard to find a quality 18 team league.

I just got Soriano straight up for Eric Byrnes. I hope Soriano can start hitting some HR and stealing some bases. If so it will be a steal for me.

Why would other league members allow that trade?

They only looked at his stats from this year?

I offered a guy in my league Kelly Johnson, Carlos Guillen, and Gary Sheffield for Dan Uggla and Lance Berkman about a week ago.

He declined it.

Yesterday, I got the same offer from him, but he dropped Guillen out of the mix. He actually lowered his price past what I had offered him inside of a week, and now my offense sports Pujols, Hafner, Berkman, and Dunn.
