To your point, looking at the schedule, the next 2 times the Cubs need a 5th starter are May 1 and May 12. Technically, couldn't they bring Angel up on the 1st to start, send him down after the game to Iowa for another reliever, and then recall him again on the 12th?

At the top of the hour, Stone also said he was surprised that Marmol didn't get the callup over Cherry. I think the Cubs want to keep him in the rotation at AAA for a while longer. Cherry will help with the bullpen... The Cubs don't need another 5th starter until May 1.

And a hypocrite. Several years ago he was critical of the Cubs front office for letting Cedeno win the starting job based on his limited success in the majors, and now he is critical of the Cubs front office for not giving Theriot a shot at second base because he was great with the big club last season. The DL option huh? Well, that gives one of the young guys a chance next Tuesday. It's their job to make sure that they pitch well enough to make sure that he can't come back in the rotation without some major injuries.
