The pie came today, maybe the filling will arrive tomorrow. With the entire bullpen being maxed out today I think it's a virtual given that a reliever will need to be called up to cover the next couple of days. I think Cherry is the logical choice (unless a trade, perhaps for Jones, is imminent). They could make room for Cherry either by optioning Cedeno to Iowa or by placing Ohman on the DL. Also, Zambrano ABSOLUTELY MUST be at his best and go deep in the game tomorrow. He's supposedly an ace, now is the time for him to be an ace.

I agree with you about Z. Either be at your best or be bad and take one for the team by staying out there 110 - 120 pitches.

 

Cherry coming up is a given but instead of DL for Ohman, if he has options left, is AAA. You cant afford to send down a position player if you arent going to DL Soriano.

He does have an option remaining, but he has to clear revocable waivers in order to be sent down. I'm not sure how long that process takes, so I don't know if there's time for that before tomorrow's game.

I don't know, but aside from the losing, I don't like the feel of what's going on with this team right now. Our power lineup couldn't get ONE freakin' run across the plate to win that game? They were practically giving us the win and we didn't take it.

I'm disapointed about today's game, and the overall record, but I think they will start scoring more runs soon. If they are still doing this when the temperature heats up, then worry. The Cubs absolutely crushed some balls today that would have been homers on an average day (minus any wind). The strong wind blowing in changed the game.

 

Last night, they scored 12 runs and the wind wasn't blowing out... I'm certainly not suggesting that they will score that many per game but I do believe that some of the hitters have been robbed on this homestand.

No, it's bad. I actually like a lot of hair metal. A couple years back I burned a 2 vol. hair metal compilation that I listened to quite a lot but Cherry Pie just grated and I kept skipping past it. It was the only song that annoyed me enough to consistently skip it. Even as kitsch it's hard to stomach.
