so what's the deal with aramis? when is he coming back?

Len said that he might be available tomorrow.

To start or pinch hit?

Just checked Yahoo's recap, apparently Piniella said he's "hopefully optimistic" Ramirez will be able to start.

Lou hopes he's optimistic? That sounds like a step down from actually being optimistic.

Padres with an extra late night on the west coast tonight because of the extended celebrations for Jackie. Then a long jaunt across country to play the next day in Chi town.

Would be nice to jump on what will obviously be a slightly worn out ballclub.

This means either one of two things will happen:

1. The Cubs offense doesn't jump all over the Padres and the Cubs lose.

2. The Cubs offense does jump all over the Padres but Marquis has a horrible performance to blow the good show by the offense and the Cubs lose.

Pick your poison.

I'll take what's behind door #2 please.

The Cubs should win 2 out of 3 against the Padres if their offense is decent.

It's only a 2 game set.
