I guess some of us are just built different, and our genes are not the "luckiest" in the earth.

I can relate to Kerry. I've had shoulder tendinitis in BOTH my shoulders for the last 3 months. They crack, they flare up for days at a time, and I couldn't imagine ever being able to pitch on them.

Ditto, but I've also had the torn labrum and surgery to repair. I shall never bash Kerry for what he's going through.

Give me that 1998 salary for the last 10 years and I'd be the happiest person on earth.

You think you would, but if you are like most people, you really wouldn't.

The latest on Woody from Rotoworld:

Kerry Wood-R- Cubs Apr. 13 - 1:54 pm et

Mets team doctor Dave Altchek told Kerry Wood that he has tendinitis in his right shoulder and does not need surgery.

Wood has been sent back to Arizona to continue his rehab. He's at least a few eons away from rejoining the Cubs.

Fixed.

Hmm, make 35 right now.

You know, I'm pretty sure I could say that if I made his 98 salary for 10 years, i'd be pretty high up there in happiest people on earth. :D

Whoa, wait a minute. I've always been under the impression that Prior and Wood purposely hurt themselves so they could enjoy time on the DL.

Nothing bad about getting paid millions to do absolutely nothing.

According to ESPN news ticker, wood will not have surgery. No timetable for him to pitch again.

Basically the same info as rotoworld.

I was thinking for Prior they (cubs) maybe already had an idea that this would happen. This would be a great reason to send him to Iowa. If my understanding is correct, his time in the minor leauges don't count as his Major Leauge Service Time"? Meaning, maybe he would see Free Agency one year later then he normally would have; had he been placed on the Major Leauge DL? (Just a thought maybe would should have done this a long time ago with Prior).

With Wood, why not do the same thing to him (he have options?)? I can understand a little maybe why they did not, he took a large pay cut to stay in Chicago (and he should have), it just seems like yearly we throw away 4 to 5 million (10-15M in the past) on the pair with not much to show for a return on the Cubs investment..

I can feel that pain -- didn't have surgery, though. Just had a cortisone shot, which reduced the inflammation enough to allow it to heal. I can finally really exercise with it. Let me tell ya, lifting with my shoulder hurts like hell, but I need to strengthen it up.

I had a cortisone shot too. But now it's flared up again. God I feel old.

Wood doesn't have any options.
