To be fair, when the Sizemore trade was made he was putting up a .699 ops in A ball.

Right, but he was also one of the Expos' more highly-rated prospects, and a guy on whom they'd spent $2M to sign him away from playing football at Washington. He always had great tools and most people though the power would come along as he got more experienced. And, unlike other five-tool prospects turned bust, he always had very good plate discipline. Baseball America spoke very highly of the three prospects the Indians acquired in that deal, back when the trade was made.

One of the worst in many really poor trades the Expos/Nats made and now have them in the position they are in right now. Worst team in baseball.

The Expos have wheeled and dealed a lot of good players during the 2000's. Here's a short list:

Ted Lilly

Jake Westbrook

Rondell White

Jorge Julio

Milton Bradley

Ugueth Urbina

Guillermo Mota

Jason Bay

Brandon Phillips

Cliff Lee

Grady Sizemore

Carl Pavano

Cliff Floyd

Michael Barrett

Chris Young

Orlando Cabrera

Javier Vasquez

He reminds me a bit of Adrian Gonzalez in the sense that both were highly touted prospects (Gonzalez was once BA's #1) that just took a little longer than some players to put it together at the major league level.

Then again, Travis Hafner for Einar Diaz is just as big of a heist.

Hooooly crap. That is insane.

Almost as good as Liriano, Bonser and Nathan for Pierzynski. Or Zambrano for Kazmir.

kevin stocker for bobby abreu

Delino DeShields for Pedro Martinez

George Bell for Sammy Sosa

A G-d amongst insects.

And TT - thanks for the props on the Akron bobblehead. I chose it b/c it looked most like the sort of idol one might worship.

Sizemore is amazing, but there are a bunch of young players that have stepped up in the AL this year. Young, Upton and Kinsler are the truth.
