Prior is pissed.

http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-070329prior,1,3556410.story?coll=cs-home-headlines

"I'm not going down that road," he said. "I'm under their control until I'm not under their control. It's up to them whether they want me. I'm just an employee."

Prior doesn't become a free agent until after the 2008 season, and does not have enough service time to prevent the Cubs from sending him to Iowa. He called himself an employee several times during a session with reporters, suggesting he doesn't believe he has a long-term future with the Cubs.

"Look, I'm a controlled player," he said. "There's nothing I can do with what their decisions are, so I'm not going to sit there and fight it. I don't really have a whole lot of control, and until you get in a position where you have any leverage, then maybe you can argue and try to find out what other options there are.

"When there are no other options, and they've made a decision, you accept it, move on, and I'm going to play ball." Asked if the demotion has changed his opinion of the organization, Prior mentioned his teammates while avoiding answering the question.

Prior is pissed boo hoo. He didn't earn a spot in the rotation this spring.

Who the hell is Prior to be pissed at anyone? Seriously?

Good and I hope he stays pissed! It's been awhile since we saw a pissed off Prior.

I don't see why a pissed Prior would pitch better.

Nothing wrong a pissed off player that has something to prove...

Except when it hurts his production.

Okay?

Okay.

Tell me, when was the last time you saw Prior pissed? The only time I remember was after the Bartman incident during Game 6. Being pissed doesn't necessarily mean Mark will pitch better.

I have to agree. He hasn't been healthy in a couple years now, he's throwing in the upper 80's, and he hasn't been all that spectacular this spring. He hasn't really shown anything that says he should have a spot on the team.

I don't see the Cubs saying something like "yeah we have to pay his check even though he's injured and hasn't pitched in months because we're his employer and we're required to."

Him wanting to get back to the bigs can't hurt him? Would you rather him not give a crap?

I'm not going to worry about his reaction in the longterm. The situation is fresh and he's bitter (as most people in his situation would be). A number of things can happen in the next 2 seasons to change his mind...

Yeah.. Carrie Muskat is in the booth. I would rather listen to her than Plesac.

I didn't know she had a, umm very deep voice for a woman.

I tune in to MLBTV and the first voice I hear turns out to be Carrie Muskat and boy did she sound really interested in what she was talking about.

Any specifics?

  • OF is horrible

Pie should have stayed with the Cubs even though he had a bad 2006 (not true)

Prior is bitter and sounded like he might want to be traded--then he claimed Prior joked about the demotion (being in the Futures Game) so which is it??

The man clearly hates the Cubs, and needs to go away.

It doesn't matter either way.

You're saying he doesn't give a crap if he's struggling and being hit a lot. I disagree.

Has the dwarf ever said anything positive about the Cubs?
