Is Dusty managing this team again?

It's ST, I think Lou just wants to see what Ronny can do. He's still being considered for the utility position.

Oh, I know why he was called to do it. But if someone's coming off the bench to bunt, it better be a pitcher.

I'd think that way too. more often then not if he's the 25th man, he might be called on in the late innings to come in an drop a bunt down.

Wasting a pinch hitter for bunting duty is asinine. Use a pitcher. (or better yet, don't waste outs with the bunt)

It depends. There are some times, late in games, when a bunt can be useful.

Yes, and that's when you bring in a pitcher to bunt.

A pitcher would be the first option but if Lou wanted to catch a team off guard, he wouldn't send a pitcher to do the job... Anyway, I'm not going to get excited about it in ST. I think it was just a matter of wanting to see if Ronny could execute it in a game situation.

That was just plain stupid to have Cedeno sac bunt. He had the best odds of getting an XBH there, much less reaching base.

How so?

How not so? Cedeno has better on base skills than either of Blanco or Marquis and is hitting way better than either of those players at the present time (eg more XBH this spring than Marquis and Blanco combined).

Cedeno isn't a world burner, but he's a better hitter than Marquis and Blanco.

My point is he's a light hitter

That ball to Floyd looked catchable

It should've been caught.

They should just save some money and order one of those fathead things of floyd to put in LF. It would cover more ground..

If Cedeno is a light hitter, then Blanco and Marquis must have eating disorders.
