I wonder if they've gotten suspicious of some of my votes yet? Just some of the emails I've made up so far are biggioblows@gmail.com, lidge_is_a_loser@gmail.com, carloslee_is_a_bust@hotmail.com, this_poll_is_rigged@yahoo.com, and the_rocket_has_crashed@fastmail.fm.

I think it's pretty funny.

 

My advice on emails at this point is make the short and simple.

 

What I suggest is making them appear to come from LSU or Saints fans. Those are less likely to be discounted.

 

TigerFan2345 or something like Iloveduece...or the like.

 

Or anything that says gueax in it, right :lol:

83 is a good lead. I only hope it will hold. The biggest drawback is the Astro fans will pull out the stops to try to overcome it. Hopefully, they won't have enough time.

The sad thing for the "Monroe-vian" Cub fans is that the paper will probably just cut n paste the daily AP Wire article in the paper. I highly doubt there will be any actual 'coverage' of the Cubs by them.

That's what we do here in Davis with the A's and Giants stories because we're too small of a paper to have actual beat reporters for those teams. We don't have a beat reporter for the Kings either but try to cover most of the games. The same goes for the Sacramento River Cats.

Every vote might count in the long run. What we do know is after seeing today's results, the Astro fans will start trying to stuff the ballot box. We have a nice cushion, but if we can somewhat keep up with the efforts of Astro fans until tomorrow at noon, all the better.

I really thought they were going to declare it a draw rather than let this progress and split the coverage. Besides, what will there be about the Astros to cover besides the daily "Will the Rocket come back" columns in the first month of the season?

I think so. They've consistently done the updates at noon and five regardless of who has led.

 

While I have concerns over the lost packet, it does seem that all votes are being counted this time around.

 

We'll see what kind of surge the Astros can create and do our best to counter. I think I've fired my final shot, but if I can convince a friend at the school to let his first period vote, I may come up with another 15-20 votes by noon.
