In spite of the Cubs....ahem.....less than spectacular history...they are still THE team in town....besides the Bears.

You really think so? Only Howry and Eyre are proven RPs. Dempster could return to form and I think that he will. But everyone else is mediocre, not to mention Cotts who is dreadful and Wood who is always hurt.

 

Nope, the BP is a weak spot.

 

Wuertz has been a really good reliever for a few years now.

 

Ohman is also very good when used correctly against lefties. And Cherry could turn out to be a welcome addition.

Balanced reporting is what I ask for because the station still has more Cub fans as listeners... It's odd, they actively try to keep Cubs fans happy with their positive commercials about how they talk about the Cubs but most of the talk is ridiculous. They spend more time talking about Wood & Prior than anything good that's happening in Cubs camp.

The hosts are paid to give their OPINIONS, which one either agrees or disagrees with. Just like on this board...it's one persons opinion.

 

And wouldn't most talk about Prior and Wood have a negative angle to it, since, how do I put this.........they haven't been healthy in three fricking years.

"Larry Horse" is an interesting Boers & Bernstein name. It's funny that you mentioned Boers... I know what Terry said b/c I listen to them everyday. BTW, saying the Cubs are going to the Series isn't what I'm looking for; just talk about the roster and not about two pitchers who aren't the focus of the team this season.

I would say with a healthy Wood and Prior, the road to the title would be a bit easier. And Prior and Wood will be a "story" every year until they aren't on the team, because this organization put so much stock in them the last three years. And aren't you in the least bit curious why Prior has gone from can't miss to pitching against minor leaguers? But I guess since he may not be on the roster, he should be on the Score's and the fans pay-no-mind list.

 

And I'll be honest, B & B aren't even my favorite hosts. Mully and Hanley beat them by a mile.

That's conjecture because they haven't both been healthy at the same time since 2004. Like I said, there are more important things to talk about with the 2007 Cubs.

 

I listen because I'm a sports nut but at the same time, all they do is rant about Prior & wood being injured when the Cubs are set to compete without them...

 

Let the 2007 season begin! Perhaps they will be forced to talk about the games instead of who isn't pitching...

 

BTW, I really don't care what's going on with Prior or anyone else who isn't going to have an impact. I want to know about who will be pitching and, hopefully, contributing to a winning season.

I don't see how anyone can blame people for being suspicious when the Cubs announce a "minor" setback. The organization is justifiably distrusted because it has a history of untrustworthy behavior. The Cubs have a long track record of releasing unrealistic injury reports to the public and it will take a long time to rebuild public trust.
