Nevin is available, though reportedly not popular with many organizations he's played for.

Between Floyd, Ward, and Pagan, Coats would be the 4th best LH pinch hitting option. Our RH pinch hitting options are Theriot, Blanco, and Pagan, in that order. Someone who can hit LHP off the bench with some pop is definitely what would be desired out of that last bench spot.

You forgot to list Murton and Barrett as possible bench options from the right side.

If things stay the way they are now, and the Cubs take 12 pitchers, I think Rocky Cherry makes the bullpen. Pagan or Buck Coats for the outfield. If Lou wants to squeeze in another INF utility guy, I can see Tomas Perez making the team over Cedeno.

Oh please, God in Heaven, anyone but Tomas Perez.

LOL, I don't want him but if Lou wants another utility infielder he's a better option than Cedeno (who needs to do more than sit on a bench). Who else is there for the infield (besides Theriot)?

Because they're both everyday starters at this point. They'll probably get more days off than Soriano or Lee, but it doesn't make up for the gaping lack of RH hitters on the bench, especially in comparison to the left side.

I do think we need one legitimate power threat from the right side for the bench. It's our glaring deficiency.

That's why I wanted us to bring back Nevin and not sign Ward.
