Prior yanked after getting four outs, allowing three runs

ASSOCIATED PRESS

03/05/2007

PEORIA, Ariz. -- Mark Prior's return didn't answer as many questions as it created. ...

Prior was scheduled to go two innings but left after 40 pitches -- 16 of which were chest-high or higher. After an errant fastball forced catcher Michael Barrett out of crouch and into a reaching snag, pitching coach Larry Rothschild visited Prior on the mound. Mike Morse hit the next pitch into the left-center field gap for a double. ...

Prior sat on the dugout bench and threw his cap over his shoulder and into the back wall of the dugout. ...

Doesn't exactly fall into our "he was just throwing" hopes...

it's sad that the AP needed to run this... talk about pressure

What do you mean? It seems like a pretty standard report of his outing.

Will the AP be releasing info about Lilly's first outing?

Maybe, but it will be included in the game report. A possible star who has his first outing coming back from injury? That's news that many people who may not follow the games as closely will want to know, and a different story is deserved for that.

5 seconds after he finished...?

Sullivan released info about Prior within moments of his outing

I wish I could punch these announcers in the face. You had to wait 15 seconds to find out weather Murton got on base or not.

Your signature is making my blood pressure rise. I feel my fists clenching and cardiac arrest about to ensue.

I know I'm agreeing it's ridiculous.

Sure.

More bleeding out of the ears continued.

I have no idea what just happened. why were they clapping?
im guessing a walk...it was a 3-2 count and the next thing i heard was that the bases were loaded

Oh, I missed the bases loaded part.

They are talking about the scoring rule like it is something we care about.

They are also talking like they don't understand how incredibly boring, dumb, slow, annoying, and worthless they are. And like we actually want to hear them. This hurts.
