A few years back my wife and I went to Arizona for spring training. Ronnie was walking around the grand stand doing his usual wooing. My wife, who knows absolutley nil about baseball, asked me who he was. I told her he was a Cubs Hall of Famer, who had a stroke a few years back and was now unfortunately reduced to a fanatic fan. I asked her to go up to him and ask him for his autgraph. She went up and I saw her ask for his autograph, and he said something to her, and she then started to hysterically laugh.

When she came back to our seats, I asked her what he said after he autographed the ball, and his exact words were,

"Thanks for the memories."

He then proceeded to chant Thanks...wooo!....For.....Wooo!....The....Woo....Memories!!!!!.....Wooo!!!!

Now everytime I leave for work or just leave on an errand, I always say...thanks for the memories.
