Yeah he looks bad. But remember that's just a few short minutes of a whole week and a half he's been there. Give him some time, see how he does in ST games. . I'm sure Lou and gang have backup plans. With 1 hopefully being getting Jones some time in CF and Sori in RF. That honestly works out much better, because we might be waving bye bye to Jones in a year or 2, and obviously will NOT to sori. Might as well put the "temp" guy in Pie's future spot. .

Yeah Sori needs some serious work but it's still early. He could learn alot in the next month.

In other news, it looked like Jacque threw a ball towards the infield on the fly.

Was that Ceasar doing some nice IF drills? I'd really wish there'd be a video showing about 5 minutes of HIM doing defensive plays. God I wish I was in AZ right now.

...OF drills where outfielders had to catch a fly ball or a liner and then throw a strike to 3rd base or to home (and although I wasn’t surprised to see Felix Pie show-off his arm, Jacque F. Jones actually was able to make throw-after-throw to 3rd base ON THE FLY and then at least on no more than one hop to home)...

Didn't Soriano look horrible in the OF last spring too? I thought he had some very poor games in the beginning of the season and then improved quite a bit as the season progressed.

I wonder if he stinks the place up out in CF if the Cubs would just trade Jones and slide Soriano over to RF and bring up Pie. Also, thank God Finley signed already.

I don't mean to scare you, but didn't Finley sign a minor league deal? That may mean he's available at the end of ST.

Nooooooooooooooo!!! You're evil!

I think that Soriano is just trying to learn technique and that takes time and you are going to look foolish sometimes while in the learning stage.

I've got a feeling that Jacque Jones may end up our CFer.

I don't have a problem with that. I actually prefer it b/c - as has been mentioned a million times here - it increases Jacque's over all value.

Am I missing something from that video? How exactly does Soriano look like crap?

I wouldn't say crap but he had the first day stiffness going for him. He didn't get good breaks on the balls hit and looked rough on the grounders. I'm not worried about it and he'll just keep getting better as the pre-season progresses.

He's obviously not getting to several balls near the end of the video, but it's difficult judge what kind of jump he's getting without seeing the batter.

I don't think we can conclude much from this.

I have a feeling that Jones will end up some other place, and Pie being the CFer.

Those are two things that would not surprise me at all.

Me either. In my perfect world Jones is doing well and Pie is mashing the ball at Iowa. The Cubs trade Jones for a SS prospect and pull up Pie, switch Murton to right and Floyd is healthy and hitting well in left.

I'm curious where Lou would hit Pie in this scenerio.

Yeah, I don't think Jones is actually off the trade market at this point. I think he's just publicly off the trade market.

Some team will lose an outfielder during ST and Hendry will be on the phone working a deal.

I have no idea what Hendry would be asking for in return, though.
