I know it's early still, but many of the question marks from this offseason have already been answered. Prior, Miller, and Lee are all healthy and ready to go. Wood is "hurt" but it is just minor. I can't wait to see this pitching staff put together. We finally have to many pitchers and not enough spots. We have two people who could play 2nd and two people who can play LF and put up good numbers. Once again I know its early, but I'm starting to feel very optimistic after all of these early reports.

You better find the closes piece of wood, and knock on it until your knuckles bleed!

Healthy and ready to go are two different things...I think we are the first but don't know we are the second just yet.

We have depth, thats for sure. Thats good, but I'd rather have elite starters and blah backups.

I'll believe Prior's healthy when he's out on the mound pitching in actual baseball games every fifth day, and not before. I'll believe Wood's healthy when he pitches in 3 games in one week out of the pen.

The Cubs have said before every ST that Prior and Wood will be healthy and ready to go, and they've been wrong most of the time. Now I just ignore them like I ignore the weatherman. I'll believe it's gonna snow when I look out the window and see it snowing.

Yeah but they are never throwing off the mound and working with the other players. They usually say that they are OK but are going to take it slower. This year they're doing what everyone else is doing.

Call me a blind optimist, but I think it's a really good sign how serious everyone seems about coming into camp in the best shape possible.

I know it's their job and everything, but there just seems to be a positive vibe in everything I've seen early in camp.

One of these years, things HAVE to go right for the Cubs....don't they?

Please????

:D

Some people will tell you it's a new manager that will do that. Others will tell you it's just your imagination. However, I think it's a combo of a new manager, and the players realizing all of the talent they have on this team this year. Basically. . .

It is THE YEAR OF THE CUUUUUUBS. .

Same here. I'm trying my hardest not to get my hopes up this year although it's quite tough.

Can the season just start already.
