maybe if the mets were there goony would be more willing to go to multiple games.

boy, would my wife hate this trip. this year we're hitting seven games in six days, which means a minimum of six meals consisting of brats and nachos and at least five hours of baseball each day. plus a casino trip or two, a couple movies, and six nights of gorging at restaurants every night. man, am i ready to go...

Sounds a bit far, but not stay at the Hilton byt the airport if you are there on a weekend.

The normal price is 200 a night but on weekends it is 50 bucks for a real nice place plus kids get a travel kit.

Eat at a place called "First Watch" http://www.firstwatch.com/ for breakfast the greatest Breakfast food and lunch you'll ever have and plenty of it. Night eat at

http://www.billjohnsons.com/ all you can ribs and baked apples.

I only watch Mets playoff games. It would tarnish my image of them to see them in anything as lowly as an exhibition game.

funny, as it's this wife dragging (well, sort of) the husband off to all the baseball. The 2 a days seem very do-able, but if it's your first spring training, I'd suggest only buying tickets to the one game, then buy the other at the gate. This way, if you decide you don't feel like going, you're not out anything.

btw - avondale should be a good general location to stay. We were in Carefree last year, and it look forever to get anywhere.

I'm a fan of having some time around the pool to relax - so we choose not to do 2 a days, but we also enjoy spending some time at Fitch watching the minor leaguers workout.

I am getting *way* too excited for this vacation...

definitely doable. depends how you want to spend your time I guess. Goony isn't a "real" baseball fan obviously. :D

This is true. I go for the beer.

"I'm just here for the Bud Light."
