Names back on Home Uniforms?

Doesn't really matter to me, but just noticed the home jerseys on Cubs.com do have names.

I just like the personal touch. On the better players, I think it seems more intimidating.

I think nameless is fine for teams that have always done it, but the Cubs added names, then took them off, now on again....fine, leave them on. I don't see how it affects anything one way or the other

I am not excited about the names on the home jerseys. I think it looks cleaner and sharper with them off and when they are on they always looked like an afterthought to me. Besides, it is cool that we have to actually learn the numbers and recognize faces of the players. Keep the names on the "away" jerseys and leave them off of the home jersey.

I'm so used to seeing the names on that it has become "part" of a baseball uniform. So I prefer them on. And what's so cool about having to remember faces? I know the names of all of the Cubs players whether they have their names on or don't. I don't need the Cubs to sacrifice a classic look just to give me a daily quiz test.

Truth. Plus, I think they were having a much harder time selling the nameless jerseys, because what if Todd Walker leaves and some other dude gets his number? Then you're wearing a jersey for the wrong guy.

 

Now, they can sell more shirts because the names are appealing, people like to have a favorite player and tell the world, plus people will buy new shirts when new players join the team.

There's something about the grey and the red on the hats they wear then that seems off. I love the grey jerseys on their own for me to wear, but I'm pretty indifferent to them on a whole as a uniform. All I know is I don't loathe them with a sexy passion like I do those damn blues.
