on comcast 82% of Bear fans don't want Tank cut.

If they in fact do cut him, they trigger one hell of a [expletive] storm in Chicago.

quick question...if the Bears cut Tank, could a playoff team pick him up and have him eligible for the playoffs?

I missed the whole game. 31 points and only 10 first downs for the Bucs? Was it just the big plays that got em back in it. Thats what it looks like. The Bears are very hard to get big plays on. They make you earn the points, didnt sound like that happened today.

Pretty much. The Buccaneers did nothing in the first half and looked like they were dead, down 24-3 with 5:15 remaining in the 3rd Q; but Rattay engineered a nice drive after a nice return by Torrie Cox to make the score 24-10. Then Hester fumbled the ensuing kick-off and TB cashed in with another TD to make it 24-17. After the Bears put together a nice drive to seemingly put it in the bag (31-17), Rattay came back and torched the Bears on successive drives - in between a Bear 3 and out - with TD passes of 64 and 44 yards to tie it up.

At least at that point, the Bear defense stepped it up and played well.

I hate that the game had to come down to this, but I'll take the win and home field and be happy.

BTW, the TB announcers were saying that the Rashied Davis catch should have been ruled incomplete. Any truth to that?

On the game break, I looked up after the Davis play was over, but they were saying that "it wasn't reviewed by the booth", which implied that there was at least some doubt that it was a catch.

I have Tivo. I watched the catch and the replays several times after hearing "it wasn't reviewed by the booth." It was very clearly a catch, and I really have no idea why that phrase was used.

looked to me like a similar catch as the one that changed the rule after the playoffs a few years back. ball touched the gound but after it was fully controlled in his hands and he didn't bobble.

Ricky manning got burned twice on those TDs. The worst part is not that he was burned, it's that he was unable to catch up. His top speed was not high enough.

Buck taking a completely unnecessary shot at Grossman here on the post game show. shocked that someone would take the Bears over the Eagles.

the unpredictability blah blah blah, with Garcia you know what you are going to get and the Eagles just keep winning blah blah blah.

lot's of over analysis by him and Bradshaw at the end of the game criticizing the 'bad thows he made today were the same as in previous weeks, throwing off the back foot, etc.'

I don't remember too many bad throws by Rex today. a couple balls could have been more accurate, but overall he was very good.

A lot like the AZ game despite the Rex Grossman interceptions. Hopefully, the losing coach's reaction is better.

Only this time, the offense pulled the defense and special teams out of the fryer.

Yeesh. I did not like that second half. I'm not sure which was louder, the cheering for Hester before the opening kickoff or the booing of Lovie for not trying to pick up 50 yards in 60+ seconds with 3 timeouts.

Just got back from the game (traffic really sucked). I have a few thoughts. 1. Rex looked really good today. I dont give a crap what Joe Buck says, I was at the game and I thought he played well. 2. If I am ever told to sit down again when its 3rd and 9 in the 4th quarter from the Bucs like 15 yard line I'm gonna lose it. Me and my buddies just ignored the people and continued to stand up, but I was ready to explode on them. If you go to a Bears game and expect that you're just gonna sit through the whole damn game, you should sell your tickets now.

3. In overtime, when Maynard punted it inside the 2 yard line, the crowd was insanely loud. I've never heard a Bears game that loud before. Two false starts that were directly caused by the crowd. It was awesome. The crowd was going crazy. 4. Once again, Joe Buck should go away and do us all a favor. 5. Defense played terrible in the second half, but in overtime, when they needed to pick it up, they did. Anyways, Bears are the number 1 seed and I'm very excited about it!

The Bears were pretty lucky that the "catch" by Davis wasn't reviewed.

I'm not sure that shows much of anything, but the game should have been over two series before that on the hold in the endzone anyway.

I'm sure the Bears would've won the game anyway even if that wasn't a catch. It would've been 4th down, but TB had nothing going on offense at all on any of their drives in OT.

I just thought it was interesting that they chose not to review that play at all, but they reviewed the play where the ball was downed at the 1.

and the fumble when it was obvious nothing could be gleaned from the replay.

Stupid tivo cut off just about the entire OT period. They upgraded the software sports can be extended for 15 minutes at a time, but you have to be there to tell it ok. A lot of good that does.

There were 2 bad throws today. The slant to Hester and the throw to Berrian in double coverage down the sideline. And he had about 3-4 balls dropped, including a deep ball to Muhammed that went threw his arms. Rex played really, really well. He checked down, took sacks when warranted, made the right reads and didn't try and force throws downfield.

And Jeff Garcia? The same Jeff Garcia that was terrible last season for Detroit? Jeff Garcia threw a terrible INT tonight and took a stupid personal foul penalty. If NY had a defense left, or could protect Eli Manning they would have won that game. Jeff Garcia and the rest of the NFC East suck, and should never ever be the model for anything.

Joe Buck is, and always will be a hack. I can't wait til the Cubs make a World Series, so that we will get the 2004 Boston treatment until we win.

anybody else wish Turner worked in some of those boots, center screens and draw plays earlier in the year. he really could have helped Rex out by putting this stuff in 8 weeks ago.

So, just out of curiosity (and sorry if already posted), but what was Grossman's passer rating today [29/44, 339 yds, 3 TDs & 0 INTs]?

TIA.

Rex only threw for 2 TDs

You're right, my bad.

NFL.com's game stats have him down for 3, but just remembered it was 2 passing TD and 2 running TDs.
