I'm looking for offers on one of these three pitchers: Webb, Oswalt, Halladay. I won't have enough points to keep them all, but they're three of the best, most reliable SP in the game. Finding stable starting pitching is the hardest thing to do in this league. IIRC, Juan also said he's seeking to increase the percentage of points from pitching next season.

I'm looking for:

- Two elite minor league players

- Single elite, proven, exempt player at OF or SS

- Larger trade that does not add numbers to my keeper roster or points

Send me a PM if you want to get a pitcher that puts you over the top in 2007!

I'll also be taking offers. I have some guys who may be up for big years next year after an off year this year.. (Chavez, Prior, Colon) as well as Ibanez and Crede if anyone is interested. Also 3 relievers who I most likely won't keep any...

Fuzzy's had a hot run in the second half of the season. I have lots of exempts available and lots of cap space as well as I continue to improve the team.

I've got a bunch of other players I won't be keeping, too. Dunn is pretty darned valuable, but most of them aren't at the same level as the pitchers.

At this point, the following players are heading into the draft unless someone makes me an offer:

Dunn

Gary Sheffield (only 121 points)

Chris Ray (exempt)

Barry Bonds

Bill Hall

Boof Bonser (exempt)

Jose Lopez (exempt)

David DeJesus

Johnny Estrada

Kelvim Escobar

Jorge Julio

Brian Meadows

Of those guys, it's really that first group of players that is worth putting on a keeper roster. If anyone is interested in those guys, I'll take anything from a 5th round pick on up depending on who it is.

On a side note, if someone wants to take a chance on Liriano, he could be had. But he'd be expensive to acquire.

I think the draft will be looking a lot stronger this year.

I'm letting some good players go. I have my 8 or 9 locks, but the last couple are tough to call.

BTW - If anyone is interested, here are my keepers at this point:

Majors:

C -

1B - Pujols

2B - Weeks (exempt)

3B - Wright (exempt)

SS -

OF - Abreu

OF - Murton (exempt)

U - Gomes (exempt)

SP - Halladay

SP - Oswalt

SP - Webb

SP - Liriano (exempt)

SP - Billingsley (exempt)

Players - 11

Points - 2644

Minors:

C -

1B -

2B -

3B - Longoria, BJ Upton, Gordon, Kouzmanoff

OF - Justin Upton, Crowe

SP - Garza, Hughes, Adam Miller

Obviously, I have to reduce my major league roster by one more guy. Hence, this thread. ;)

I wish BJ would move back to SS, but I don't think that's happening. However, BJ and Gordon could help me out quite a bit by moving to the OF. As things stand, I've got quite the pile of great young players at 3B.

Taking this in another potential direction...

Anyone want to make an offer on one of the top 3 exempt players for 2007, David Wright?

Price will be steep, but you won't find more points for free outside of Ryan Howard.

Guys, I have some interesting decisions w/ my team. This is the first year that VMart is not exempt and while I'll probably still keep him, I will listen to offers.

I also have some big bats and can't keep them all:

Berkman

Giambi

Delgado

Ichiro

Renteria

Mora

I don't have as many pitchers:

Zambrano (He's always been on HBC since Roadkill's inception. Would be hard to get him as well.)

Pedro (255.2 pts. cheap to fix, but probably won't pitch until midseason)

Pettitte (Back with the Yanks should help)

Gil Meche (I promise he won't cost 55 million)

Feel free to give me an offer.

Chuck

Who's your 3rd? Sizemore?

BTW, I'll make you an offer in a bit.

Nobody in particular...just playing it safe in case I forgot someone obvious. :D

Crap....

I was just looking at the rules changes thread. Maybe I should wait to see what Juan does with the rules before I trade away a bunch of my pitching. :-k

FYI - the holdup right now is that I cannot see what my changes are doing to scores as the site is not resetting scoring as it did in previous years. Pitchers will score more next year though still not as much as hitters (with the exception of the very top pitchers who are already close).

Is it going to be 3 OF's and one U?

Alright, then I can slide back on the OF's I'm acquiring!

In the first trade of the offseason,

NSBB trades Adam Dunn, Chris Ray and Evan Longoria

to

Harry's Budcrew for Victor Martinez and Andre Ethier

Juan, I don't know if you can make the adjustments to the rosters now or not.

In the second trade of the offseason,

Fuzzy Logistics trade Tulo + Verlander

to

NSBB for bj Upton, Gomes, Halladay

I will see if I can execute these one of these nights.

And now for my big trade....

I am sending Wright, Webb, and Kouzmanoff

to Raw for:

Holliday, Young and Weaver

I hated giving up Delmon, but I'm taking my chances that Wright won't lose his power stroke in the 2nd half again and be the #1 3B next year. I believe Holliday's 2006 was the height of his production potential. I believe Jered Weaver has a very shaky health outlook. And Webb gives me the top 2 pitchers in baseball.

BTW, I'm looking to upgrade my minor leaguers. I have ML experienced exempt players, who will go into 2007 as starters.

Mark Teahan hit .318/.392/.582 after the All-Star break, is a 3B who may also become eligible in the OF if the Royals put Gordon in as their opening day 3B. Only his 2nd season, so still exempt after 2007.

Ryan Shealy .294/.359/.457 in his first 300 ML ABs. Royals opening day 1B, in an improving lineup that should add Gordon, Butler, and the improving Teahan and DeJesus. Projected to hit .300, with 25 HRs and 90 RBIs next year.

Kevin Kouzmanoff likely to be the Padres opening day 3B. Amazing minor league numbers, speak for themselves. 3 HRs in his first 56 ML ABs, 30 HR potential easy. Can be stashed in the minors and not count toward your keepers.

Andy Marte will be the Indians opening day 3B. Hasn't put up great ML numbers, but tons of potential in an explosive offense. Also qualifies as a minor leaguer, though only 1 exemption year left.

Zach Duke 215 IP last year. 3.65 ERA in the 2nd half, with just 24 BBs allowed, showing flashes of after a great rookie season.

Joe Saunders likely spot in the Angels rotation. ERA not spectacular, but won 7 games, with 8 of 12 quality starts, and 1 more 5.2 IP with 0 ERs. K totals were above expected also.

alright! My keeper roster is pretty set at this point. I'm really just waiting to see what Murton's role is going to look like to decide between he and Ethier.

The following players are up for grabs. I'm going to set a price next to each one and if anyone is interested, let me know.

Bill Hall 5th round pick (SS eligible for 2007)

Barry Bonds 4th round pick (gamble, but the upside...)

Jose Lopez 8th round pick (not great, but exempt)

David DeJesus 7th round pick

Johnny Estrada 7th round pick

Gary Sheffield 3rd round pick (really good value on Sheff - almost a free keeper)

Kelvim Escobar 8th round pick

Francisco Liriano 4th round pick (if you have an available roster spot, he'd be great value)

Boof Bonser 6th round pick (2 more years exempt)

my roster is full at this point, so I can't take back any additional major leaguers in trade for these guys.

I think we both did well on that deal. I really wanted to keep Pujols, Victor and Abreu, which meant I could only hold onto one of Webb or Oswalt. I hated giving up Wright, but this is his last exemption. Holliday should come close to replacing his production and I have Gordon to step in at 3B. Weaver is a risk for me, but I've got a rotation stacked with very high potential guys in Oswalt, Weaver, Verlander, Billingsley and Garza. Adam Miller could step into the Cleveland rotation this season, also.

With the trades I've made, I am able to field a complete team other than relievers. I can use the early draft to pick up either impact players if they're available or I can stock up on prospects like Brignac who should get added to the database this spring. I'm absolutely loving my position and I've loaded up my team to be good for years with potential impact players who have multiple years left of exemptions.
