We have a glut of SP's now with the signing of Marquis.

Would the Braves do a deal where the Cubs get Andruw Jones and the Braves get Prior and Jones along with a bullpen arm (Ohman, Eyre, or Novoa) and a prospect (Marshall, Marmol, Mateo)?

Our offense would be all RH, but with Floyd and Ward on the bench, I think we could survive. It would also be a very good RH offense.

No thanks, with A. Jones hitting the market next year he will want at least $20 Mil. a year that I don't think we will have or would want to give him. Why does everyone want to get rid of Starting pitching now that we have a few mediocre arms. We of all fans should know that having a lot of starting pitching is a good thing.

A few short years ago $17M for Beltran was pretty crazy.

We could be glad we locked up Jones for $20M. I'd just ask the extension was worked ot before we made the trade.

It's truly amazing that Andrew Jones is still only 29.

Amazing. Amazing. Been around it seems forever.

I'd love to have him on the ballclub. Great player.

You read my mind; I also thought he was older :D Would love to see him patrolling CF at Wrigley.

He played in 96 at the age of 19, and was the youngest player in post season history to homer.

I think I knew that, somewhere in the deep recesses of my memory.

It was still shocking to see he is only 29 though. If I were Atlanta I'd hold on to him forever.

I'm not ready to toss Prior out yet, just too much upside. Why not Pie, Jones, and Marmol for Andruw? Hopefully an extension would be part of the deal...with Murton, Jones, and Soriano, Pie would be blocked for quite a while. Damn you Vance! Why did you make me think about this trade that makes so much sense but will never happen?
