FWIW, anyone in the Chicagoland area can watch McDonough on ChicagoTribune Live on Comcast Sports Net. He is on right now, but he has been on for a good fifteen minutes already so I'm not sure how much longer the interview will be.

Anyways he is really stressing the idea of Lou Piniella as someone here to win and his refusal to deal with players who do not play hard everyday.

Did he say anything interesting?

Hasn't come on yet. They say he'll be on 1:30 CT (about 5 minutes).

Great to bad we have to listen to Mike Murphy to hear it.

What, you don't like a 2 hour browns chicken advertisment interupted by 10 minutes of Murph making no sense?

isn't this the time of the year for them to shift their advertising to Vermont Teddy Bears?

Murphy is terrible. He's asking terrible questions.

"When are you handing out #21?" And murph wonders why no one comes on his show...

what does that even mean?

God, I love how leaving early the last game of a lost season erased every other good thing about Sosa's tenure here.

I guess he's scared of them retiring sosa's number...which they won't do.

Not for everyone, but Murph personally doesn't like him and he's got the microphone

I live in Kentucky and although I've heard Murph criticized often, I've never actually listened. I thought the constant criticism was potentially overkill.

I was mistaken.

How this man has a job is beyond me. He literally sounds drunk, he is asking terrible questions, making assumptions as fact and trying to bait McDonough and when he does ask a legititmate question he has to phrase it in such a way that he gets a zinger into the question.

I guess I'll make it through the interview, but I won't listen again.

Murph is an idiot. He hates everyone. I haven't heard him make a coherent or valid argument in 4 years at least.

I listen to murph during lunch soley on the fact to pass the time. The one thing I like about him is he lets callers talk most of the time so its nice to hear general oppinions of random fans and compare them to mine and on this board. Plus he does love Bill James! :)

He loves James and Dewaan, but doesn't apply any of their info into his opinions on players. He uses conventional wisdom to support knee jerk opinions. He hates Ramirez despite mountains of evidence that he's productive, citing 2 below average months as reasons Aramis shouldn't have been retained, inoring the other 18 enormously productive months he'd had.

I like Murph. Just like listening to my uncle. Just a crazy Cubs fan on the radio. Atleast he ain't like booers and dumbstein who when getting in an arguement calls his callers dumb and morons and thinks he is RIGHT no matter how many times he is wrong, and cuts off his callers so he can call them MORONS.
