I also said Westbrook.

I personally would make a play for Lugo so we can play Pie.

I agree. That would put him in position where he doesn't HAVE to produce for the team to be successful. I just don't want it to turn out like Brian Anderson on the South Side.

I just figure we're not going to be able to upgrade everywhere, and I think Pie is going to outproduce Izturis offensively.

Not like Brian Anderson had a huge role on his team either...Crede...Dye...Konerko...Thome.

Then again, with how we're spending, who's to say we're not going to upgrade everywhere?

I don't know, but the Cubs need another bat. I would prefer someone with high OBP who can play 2nd or SS.

They are still a player away from a good offense.

I disagree. I think they have a good offense as things stand. I think they are still a player away from having a great offense.

I think they can have a good offense, as is. But are susceptible to letdowns. I think they need another bat to guarantee a good offense and to have much of a shot for a great one. They still have a black hole at SS, and potential for major crappiness at 2B and probable mediocrity at one OF position. And the bench is non-existent, as of now. I could live with this offense, if the pitching was much more secure. But I don't see these guys as being much more than slightly above average, as is.
