Rotoworld sums it up best by basically saying this is a [expletive] move. Jimbo is sucking lately, but he didnt just trade for Jaret Wright. Which is nice.

The only thing notable about this is now there is only one overpaid crap pitcher we could offer to take along with ARod.

Steve Karsay? or Kyle Farnsworth?

Carl Pavano. His contract is a nice bargaining chip.

You win. That's an even better joke.

I'm serious. Offering to take back Pavano's entire contract along with ARod could signifigantly reduce the player cost needed to trade for ARod. It's one of the only cards in our deck. We don't have enough tradable assets to compete against the other teams likely to want ARod. The ability to take on salary is one thing that we do have.

I suppose it's worth it to get A-Rod. Buuuuuut, Pavano hasn't pitched in like 2 years.

I have never known A-Rod to be a guy that would want to play on a bad team. When he was traded to Texas, they had a very good offense. They didn't win enough for him, so he demanded to be traded to a team that did win more often.

I know A-Rod said something before about Chicago being a possible destination, but the Cubs are going backwards in a furious way. I can't see A-Rod waiving his NTC to go to a perennial loser.

I'll have to go with Leo Mazzone's opinion over Rotoworlds. He obviously he thinks he can turn Wright back to what he was with the Braves.

ARod wasn't traded to Texas... he signed with them as a free agent, and passed on a coule of other opportunities to be with much better offenses.

That being said, I doubt ARod really wants to be a Cub. A White Sock? Perhaps. If I could get Broadway and Crede for ARod, it'd be a no-brainer.
