Now we need to trade for Heilman

Now that would be a good idea.

Depending on what would be traded away, yes.

Daisuke is still my first choice. Resigning Ramirez the most pressing issue. And then signing J.D. Drew.

It doesn't seem very likely for the Cubs to pull off all of that, but if they did...

Theriot-2B

Murton-LF

Drew-CF

Lee-1B

Ramirez-3B

Jones-RF

Barrett-C

Izturis-SS

Zambrano

Matzusaka

Hill

Heilman

Prior/Miller

I suppose you could sign a free agent 2B as well, but that's gets the job done, I think.

Trade Jones and whoever for Kearns, Church, Vidro and slide Theriot over to ss.

I like Miller. He could be called "rehab" material. But it seems he did most of his "rehab" last year. He was actually quite impressive in his last few starts with LESS velocity. Imagine if he added a MPH or 2 next year? Call me crazy but he could be quite an effective and nice pitcher to have in the rotation.

Put it this way. Miller is less of a "risk" as Wood or Prior. Because he actually showed uninterupted progression last year (EX: not going BACK on the DL but actually slowly but surely rehabing and getting better). .

I welcome Miller back in a Cubs uni..

Prior showed a lot more than that in 2005, and had a better history than Miller currently does. So I'm not sure Miller is really less of a risk than Prior.

Are you talking about this year or last year? Because I haven't heard anything about Prior. So Miller is more of a possibility to actually pitch and be effective next year than Prior. Until I start hearing about how Prior is doing, I will still feel this way. .

The only thing I've seen about Prior was a blurb in a recent article saying the Cubs weren't counting on him for the rotation, but he is expected to be at spring training ready to pitch.

I swear that's the best news I've heard about him in a while, which is sad. I expect information will pick up soon because he has an arbitration settlement coming up.
