24-0. So basically Georgia loses to Kentucky on the road, and then goes to Auburn and blows them out? What the hell is that???

Auburn is what Georgia was earlier in the season, ranked too high and stumbling past inferior opponents until someone finally gets to them

apparently... I just figured that Georgia was another one of those inferior opponents.

yeah all Ohio State had to do was play at the defending national champion, host another team that beat them last year (Penn State), go to Iowa for a night game (when Iowa was ranked around #10)

Who cares what Iowa was ranked when OSU played them? Fact is, right now Iowa is sitting at 6-4, 2-4, and isn't even receiving votes in the polls. They're not a good team. Last week they lost to Northwestern at home. You can't use the spot they once were in the poll to make your argument. Would you do the same thing if Iowa was unranked when OSU played them but was now ranked in the Top 15? Of course not. You would say that OSU beat an Iowa team that is better than people thought and is now ranked in the Top 15.

I'll give you the Texas and Michigan games and I would pick OSU to beat either Louisville or WVU but the thought (not necessarily yours) that the Big East is an inferior conference to the other five major conferences is just wrong. Is the Big East the best conference in the nation? Probably not. Are they the worst major conference in the nation? Absolutely not.

It's inferior to at least a couple of them. I haven't said they're the worst, so if you're arguing that they're not, you're apparently arguing with nobody.

There are a couple people on this board - like I said, you aren't one of them - who have openly stated that the Big East is by far the worst of the six major conferences.

Is it possible to play a worse half of football than this?

Brandon Cox: 2-8, 8 yards, 0 TD, 3 INT

Gee, wonder why Auburn is losing

I'm not sure what I'm more surprised about, Georgia playing this well or Auburn playing this poorly.

I'm not watching the game, but I don't know if it's everyone on Auburn playing like crap, or just the QB. I mean, when you complete more passes to the other team than to your own team, that can singlehandedly put your team in a pretty big hole.

Anyway, that game is over... maybe Auburn should just give the backup a shot to get him some experience.

can we just end this stupid big east argument - or at least move it to its own thread?

Agreed, the Big East is clearly the worst major conference.

Now that it's settled, Iowa is giving Wisconsin a good game up in Iowa City.

Your school resides in a conference worse than the Big East this year.

True - the Big XII North is a joke.

Iowa giving Wisconsin a game shouldn't be a surprise. Iowa is at home and has to be pissed off at the way they've played lately. Plus, Penn State was nice enough to hurt Wisconsin's starting QB (Stocco) last week.

oh, and wisconsin isn't that good.

Say what you want about Wisconsin, but they continue to win games. They may end up 11-1 this season, so they're certainly doing something right. AT the very least, they're the best team in the Big Ten not named OSU and Michigan. Heck, I bet if they replayed the Michigan game today the outcome would be much different, as this Badger team now is much improved offensively.

24-14 Wisconsin.

What's funny is that if Illinois holds on to beat Purdue, and when Michigan beats Indiana, Penn State will be the only Big Ten team with 3 losses. So Penn State could then lose to Temple today and as long as they beat Michigan State, they'd be guaranteed to go to the Outback Bowl to play a team like LSU.

I don't think Wisconsin is that good. The only ranked team they've played this year is Michigan and, I know it's not their fault, but they don't play OSU this year. Their out of conference schedule is a doozy: Bowling Green, Western Illinois, San Diego State, and Buffalo.

The QB, Brandon Cox, is playing horribly. I'm not certain whether he is hurt or what exactly is transpiring. However, he appears to be floating balls to receivers and generally is just making poor decisions.

That said, Auburn's defensive line is getting abused as well, so it's not just the QB.

I agree....play the backup QB if Cox cannot throw the ball with more force than what he's doing currently. With Cox at the helm right now, Auburn may be the worst 9-1 team in college football history.

I can't wait to read all the posts later about how "the Georgia-Auburn game just goes to show you how deep and tough the SEC is." The truth is, Auburn is tremendously overrated and Georgia sucks. This is not indicative of how deep the SEC is, but rather, how overrated some of the top teams in the league are.

yeah, I wonder if he is hurt... he was solid last year and his numbers this year are better, but his performance today is just atrocious. The problem is that he's supposed to be the QB next year... I wonder if that could be in doubt. Can't say I know the backup situation at Auburn.

Not arguing that their non-conference schedule is weak, it certainly is. Unfortunately that was an Alvarez methodology that will soon change. But outside that, their Big Ten schedule is something they don't have any control over. You can't say Wisconsin is not that good, because there is nothing to base that off of, they haven't played the teams as you mentioned. Rather, you can certainly say they're unproven because they haven't been tested much this year. Hopefully they'll get a good test in the Capital One bowl.

Ok, at this point, we can agree their unproven.

EDIT: 24-21 Wisconsin now.

so Brandon Cox threw an INT on his first throw of the 2nd half...

2/9, 8 yards, 0 TD, 4 INT

That really is the worst line I have ever seen.

edit - and he's been sacked 4 times as well
