Had Paxon not wasted his pick on Tyrus THomas, and drafted Brandon Roy, we could have easily packaged Gordon + Noc for Gasol, and not missed a beat with Roy at the 2 guard.

And don't even get me started on giving up JR Smith for nothing.

John Paxon needs to go.

Basically you'd want any and every GM fired.

ETA: And you apparently have already decided TT is a wasted pick.

Tyrus Thomas is Stromile Smith part II. There are plenty who think the same.

Why? Because they are both athletes? Both former Top 5 picks? Both from LSU? I think it's abit TOO EARLY to compare T2 to Swift. Atleast give the kid the benefit of the doubt.

The Bulls are no better/no worse then where they were before the deadline, which means they are still a likely one and done in the playoffs. For this...Paxson had better be dang sure he'll get a Top 3 pick courtesy of the Knicks and/or getting Gasol/KG in the offseason, otherwise, this will be a blemish on Pax's resume.

The Knicks are starting to roll. A top 3 pick is not likely.

I didn't join this board till after the draft so I can't point out how much I was against the TT pick. So you will have to trust me. I also read many scouting reports that said Thomas' offensive game was light years away.

Whether or not you thought Thomas was the player with the highest ceiling is moot. I love to scour the Web for draft information, too, but that doesn't make my opinion of draft talent any more expert.

While the general consensous was that Brandon Roy was the most NBA ready player in the draft, which has proven true. So if we are ready to win now(as inidcated by the Ben Wallace signing) why draft a player that is so far away? Why not grap a player than can help you immediatly?

I agree with the draft-for-ceiling-and-not-need policy when you have a high pick.

As for Deng & Gordon I never heard both of these. I heard Deng or GOrdon and another player such as Noc and or draft pick.

Look at the stories printed in the Memphis papers. West wanted Deng and Gordon. Many thought he could be talked down, especially the Chicago beat writers, but we don't know for certain.

So if you could go back right now, would you still draft Thomas..over Roy?

Roll to a 20-point loss against the Sixers last night. A top 3 pick is not likely, a top 10 pick is, and this is a draft to have it.

That would be bad news....if the teams were given spots based on their record....so...seeing as the NBA is based on loterry...I still think the Knicks could end up with a Top 3 pick.

3, 4 years down the road is when you make this highsight assessment, and I'd have kept Aldridge before I would've drafted Roy.

Alridge would have made sense for this team as well.

Good to hear they lost last night. Let's hope Paxon realizes this team needs scoring inside. I don't think he does.

Your post makes no sense

Maybe if TT had an offensive game he would get more minutes, but if you have Thomas and Wallace in the game toghether the rest of the guys are playing 3 on 5 offensively.

Well, the Bulls disagree with you DCF. I honestly believe that combine with Luol Deng, the Bulls will have ONE FREAKISHLY athlethic front court, in the less then two yrs. And people will forget about LMA, who is softer then a worn out pillow.

A couple of weeks ago, his exact words was that we needed an inside presence. There's no doubt that we'll draft a big man with the pick. I just hope it's not going to be the next Tyson Chandler in Joakim Noah.

It makes perfect sense because even though TT was the 4th pick in the draft, he's getting far significantly less playing time than anyone else that was close to him in terms of where they were picked.

He gives the team a defensive presence and energy. You're seriously telling me that you'd rather have guys like PJ, Sweetney, Malik, and Khryapa get more playing time than Thomas? Thomas is by far a better defender than all of them and his athleticism can lead to a better offensive game (most of the time) than any of those guys.

Why not let the kid prove whether he's a bust or not, rather than labeling him based on half a season with limited playing time and some scouting reports?

I watched him plenty in the college as well, he can jump out of the gym, but what low post moves does he have? His offensive game is as raw as it comes. So even if he does become a decent player down the road, it was still a bad pick because this team is built to win now.

I'm a UCLA alum, I saw the Final 4 game where UCLA completely locked down Tyrus and LSU (probably the worst he looked last season) - and I watched plenty of other LSU games. I saw a midrange jumper and a few offensive moves, not bad for someone as raw as TT. I also saw someone with an incredible ceiling at a position the Bulls were weak at.

Yes, if he's a decent player, it's not a great pick. Of course, his ceiling is much higher and it's plenty possible he'll be more than a decent player.

What the hell is Duhon doing out there. I wasn't aware the offense was now focused around him. Anyways, Bulls lead by 12 at the half at Clevelend. I hope they hold on.

Wow, I am glad we don't have Mike Brown as our coach. What the heck was he trying to pull as he was down by 4 with 31 seconds left? They don't foul until 20 seconds later. Some real stupid coaching by Cleveland.

Not that I'm complaining. First win in Cleveland since both of us were the laughingstocks of the league.
