If you have a problem with my opinion then don't respond.

That would leave this board with people posting completely unconnected opinions, never addressing what anyone else thought unless they agreed

That would be dumb

It is way too early to judge the credibility of McDonough. The least you can do is wait until the end of the 2007 season... If not, the end of the off-season.

Your crticisms might carry more merit if you made them without the hyperbole and insults.

Is the ticket scalper thing really an insult? Or more of a fact.

I agree...but sheesh...it seemed like my opinion of McDonough really offended him.

I want Girardi sooo bad......if the Cubs don't sign him I'm

afraid I cannot continue being such an optimistic Cubs fan.

Why? Because he seems like a nice guy and used to be on the Cubs? Because he was a mediocre catcher?

Because he had one mediocre year with the Marlins....and was promptly FIRED?

You are moaning about them hiring an in-experienced team President.....yet you want a filed manager with 1 year of experience who was fired after his first year?

Fired because he told Loria to basically screw off. If he did the same thing

to Fitzsimmons, I'd probably want to marry the guy.

I don't believe that anybody is offended by your opionions. Those that have responded to you, including the moderators, have taken afront at the way you deliver those opinions. I suspect that if you don't heed their advice, you'll be meeting a fellow called Modzilla.

To me it shows a lack of good judgement. I'd like a manager that shows better judgement, on and off the field.

Also, he was fired because he couldn't get along with anyone in the front office which is counter productive.

He had an owner running his mouth to the umps on the field. He simply asked him to stop

Once he had offeneded Loria, one of the biggest jerks in baseball, it was over.

Ok, in one post you say he told Loria to screw off. In another you say he simply asked him to stop. Those are two different things. Which one was it? Or do you even know yourself?

My guess is you don't care. You're so excited for Girardi, you really have no concern for what his relations with his superiors were. I do have those concerns. I'm also concerned that his controlling ways won't work with a veteran team. I'm also concerned that he's too tied to conventional wisdom. I'm also concerned that he's likely not the best choice because of all of these factors.

Where have I personally attacked anyone on the board in this thread?

I don't like McDounough, which dates back to the ticket scalping incident.

He is a salesman and I don't trust him. And the hire/promotion angers me.

If you are gonna ban me for not having optimistic attitude, then so be it.

If most of your opinions were stated in such fashion, you would be better off. In other words leave off the lame and childish nicknames.

Whether you think he is the best choice or not, the other contestents could

begin to file off stage soon. one already has.

I'm passionate about Girardi.

You are equally as passionate about Dierker.

If Dierker is hired to tomorrow as the Cubs manager I certainly won't complain. However is there any evidence to suggest that he wants to get

back into managing.

I haven't found any. Maybe I simply missed something and there is evidence.

If so Girardi is still #1 on my list but Dierker would be a very close second.

No, you haven't personally attacked a poster on the board. You've been asked by two moderators to stop giving insulting names to those working for the Cubs. This is a rule of NSBB. No one is asking you to start having an optimistic attitude.

You can criticize people associated with the Cubs without resorting to insults.

And even without Dierker, I think there are better choices than Girardi. If I can't have Dierker, I'd like Davey Johnson. If not him, I think Brenly would be a better choice than Girardi. I'd even prefer Bobby Valentine to Girardi.

I didn't see that outlined in the link in your sig. Maybe I missed it.

I have also seen quite a few "Dumpster" "Jockstrap" "dustbag"

references on this board and not just from me.

Let me turn that right around on you. Where did I say you attacked anyone. I merely tried to point out to you that people here are not objecting to what you're saying, but rather to how you're saying it.

Reading comprehension is pretty valuable because it's pretty rare.

I don't ban people here; I'm not a moderator. But I have been here long enough to know that if you keep ignoring their warnings....... well... just do want you want to do.

The link in my sig is not the be-all, end-all of rules. Those nicknames are frowned up also (though most commonly seen in game threads, where these rules are less strictly enforced because people get upset in the heat of the moment in games). And I fail to see how "Dusty" is an insulting name.

You've been asked to stop using those insulting nicknames, if you see others doing it, PM a mod. We can't see everything on the boards, we have lives too. Just because someone else is doing it and we missed it doesn't give you the right to keep doing it.

He probably wrote Dust Bag in quotes.
