Yeah, I'm a fan of Torey's, I like what I've read on BA.

Any reason you think Hendry might consider him?

At this stage? Probably not.

Hopefully, Wilken with his experience in the AL East has scouted some Int. League this year as well as some Eastern league and maybe his style of managing caught his eye.

I think Girardi is the likely choice, and the more I think about it the more I support him. He did a very good job with a young, low payroll team. I know there are concerns with how he gets along with management, but I think that may relate only to the specific situation in Florida. I've read that he has a good relationship with both Hendry and McDonough, so I wouldn't expect a repeat here. Since he's still new to managing, I'd hope they bring in a veteran former manager as bench coach to help him.

Girardi was very professional in his handling of the Marlins situation, which the exception of the Loria "shut up" comment. He didn't air out his differences in the public domain. The Marlins FO did. That is unprofessional and childesh. Disagreements should remain in house as much as possible.

oh,oh!

it was mentioned today that buck showalter has ties to hendry and is a top candidiate for the chicago job...

can we just sign giradi already...

if he blows i will still say it was the right move.

he is a cub

he has experience under torre

he has mangerial experience and successful managerial experience..

we lost 95 games....let's give him a shot and right now it looks like that is a move that would energize a lethargic organization.

for hendry's sake i also think that he would gather some time if he hires giradi.

my thoughts are if improve 10-15 games under giradi..it shows we are geading in the right direction. if we get lou...i expect we win today with what we will pay him. lou ain't signing up to bring along a 5 year plan!

No way...He intereviewed for the Chicago job 4 years ago and didn't get it. I don't think Showalter will manage for a while...
