Jaque Jones has had 20 walks combined between August and September for an OBP approximately .086 points above his avg. Is there a reason for this? Has he had a different approach at the plate. Has he finally figured out that walks are good?

I wish his OBP were higher and that he would not alternatively ground and air mail his throws. However, if we aren't relying on him to hit in the middle of the order, I could live with his production next year.

Interesting. Over this same period his K/AB jumped from 4.9 to 7.1. Not necessarily bad thing. Dude appears to be working deeper in the counts. (I couldnt find his P/PA split stats).

I could too - especially if we could sign another big outfield bat and then platoon him with Murt. Or has been suggested I would prefer to see him rather than Pierre in CF next year.

I'd rather get a big or above average bat for CF and just leave Murtt alone. Murt should not be platoon with anybody. He should start most of the days of the year in LF. He has earned that. Plus I have a good feeling about him, he's gonna produce.

I'd much rather have Murton in one corner and a really productive OFer in the other.

I would too but I'm afraid we are probably stuck playing the Frenchman at least through next year.

GilesBros.,

Just out of curiosity, have you thought about what picture to put under your name after this week (assuming the dude is let go)? Or will you keep that picture to remind us how bad it used to be?

That was just something a (unskillfully) put together cutting out ubergoobers great photoshop of todd walker. I'd probably get rid of it once dusty is gone. I'm thinking of putting a confetti or something resembling a party during the offseason once dusty is gone.
