I feel confident that Wade Miller will do his part to keep us in the race for the #1 pick in the 2007 draft. Go Wade!!!

The Fecal League race is really warming up although the cubs two wins this week hurt them badly. Cubs are two games ahead of KC and a half game ahead of TB.

I would like to think Miller could put together some quality starts, re-sign on the VERY cheap, keep showing of he he still has something and end up being a money-saving quality option for the #4-#6 spot next year.

But I'm a Cubs fan, and I know better.

I've had this idea for a sign when the Cubs play the Dodgers at Wrigley.

Brett Tomko plays for the Dodgers and he is an avid and passionate painter in his spare time. In fact, he sometimes auctions off his original pieces to benefit charity. I say we go to one of his auctions and win the biggest painting up for auction. We then take a red marker and defile it with the words "Don't Quit Your Day Job" and then purchase seats right behind home plate for the Dodgers series, so that if he does pitch in the series, we can hold it up for all to see.

Sounds completely mean spirited to me.

I think its brilliant. I wouldn't actually ruin his painting though, I'd probably put some sort of plastic wrap around it before writing on the plastic. He would likely be very distracted.

I'm in the 'I think it's mean spirited' camp. Art is a very personal thing and a drawing by someone leaves much of them on the canvas. Wouldn't it be just as easy to find an incriminating photo or photoshop something and display it? Well, no that could be slanderous and there are laws agaist that, but not their art.

Anyhow, back to the game. Let's Go Cubs. I love watching them win, but this no. 1 draft thing is cool also. It's a win/win situation.

Stupid me, I'm still trying to optimistic about this season. :(

If you actually defiled the painting that would be mean-spirited. But doing what UMFan83 suggested would be hilarious and a good idea.
