this "franchise," and he bolts, who would you like to see replace him?

Personally, I think Morgan Ensberg might be a nice possibility. Houston apparently hates him and his entire clan, but he puts up good power and OBP numbers. I know Lowell is probably an option as well. Then of course, there's Scott Moore, who, I'm sure is thrilled to have to live in the same city as His stalker Phil Rogers. But I would be surprised if he performed anywhere near Ramirez. I pray ARam sticks around, but if he doesn't, we're gonna need a plan.

If Aramis leaves, I'd like to see the enitre roster traded Marlins style.

Me too. Go with Moore, EPatt, Ronny, and Lee in the IF; Murt, Pie, and Restovich/Coats/Jackson in the OF, and lets see what happens.

So we would trade jaque jones, michael barrett, Lee, isturiz, and that's really it. Are those players going to get a large enough return?

Jones, Barrett, Lee, Zambrano, Prior, Eyre, Howry, Dempster, Izturis...it's not uncomparable to Beckett, Lowell, Pierre, Castillo, Mota, Delgado, etc...

I think you could get a ton for Z, a lot for Lee, a good return on Barrett and Prior, and who cares what you get for the rest.

I'd trade Lee, too. No reason to keep him if you rebuild.

If the Cubs were going to clean house, they should have gotten rid of Pierre and Ramirez at the deadline.

That would have made the prospect haul they received significantly more than if they clean house this winter.

I guess I would keep Lee and Z (like the Fish did with Willis and Cabrera) b/c you have to have something you can build around that you know to be top level. You would still have Barrett, Prior, Jones, Izturis, Demp., Howry, Eyre, etc. to deal away. Not the most valuable guys ever, but I think you can get something for them.

agreed...keep those two. if aram leaves why not get rid of everyone?

do you realize we are the worst team in baseball with them since april?

in the scheme of things does it matter if we are out of it in may as opposed to june? i know many of you felt we were still in it much later as we cruised along playing .400 ball but we were done june 1....

seriously if we lose aram " we would have to sign 5-6 big time players to make this team a "serious contender...with him we need 2 big time starters and 1 position player

there is not a fill in at 3rd capable of aram offense..so we would need another bat somewhere else. we would also need to grab more pitching because it's pretty clear we could not grab 2 big bats to fill in the postions we need now..so we would lose someone like murton or 2b also...

we all know that hendry would not swing the necessary deals to fill aram spot..so our lineup would look like

pierre cf

izturis ss

barrett c

lee 1b

jones rf

murton lf

bell/bellhorn/lowell 3b

cedeno 2b

p

with this as a real possibilty why not blow it up?

is this much worse?

pie cf

theriot 2b

murton lf

lee 1b

jones rf...no one would take him yet...maybe at the deadline

bell?/moore 3b..why not z?

soto c

cedeno ss
