Oh well, these days I'm pretty confident in Mesa's rotation staying as Parker-Dolis-Ceda-Huseby (watch, this will come back to bite me today - Bernard will start instead).

West Tenn and Huntsville are scoreless in the bottom of the first.

 

Daytona is down 5-0 in the bottom of the 4th to Jupiter. Holliman's been roughed up so far: 4 IP, 5 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 4 K. Ryan Harvey with a walk in his lone PA.

 

Wade Miller's first inning:

 

Kenny Kelly singles to RF.

Melvin Dorta singles to CF, Kelly to second.

George Lombard singles to CF, bases loaded.

Marlon Byrd grounds into a 5-3 force out, Kelly out at home. One out.

Brandon Larson grounds into a 4-6 force out, Byrd out at second. Dorta and Lombard score. Two outs.

In the bottom of the first, Iowa has cut the deficit thanks to a double by Pie, a single by EPatt and an RBI single by Restovich. Iow down 2-1 in the bottom of the first and still batting.

I wonder if West Tenn will lose a starting pitcher to Iowa since Ryu was called up to the Cubs.

 

They already lost Campusano to the DL today.

I do remember Ron posting that in his Q & A thread.

Iowa ended up putting up a 5-spot in the bottom of the first.

 

After the Restovich RBI IF single, the I-Cubs got a Casey McGehee RBI sac fly, a Geovany Soto RBI groundout and a Jesse Hoorelbeke 2-run HR.

 

Wade Miller's second inning:

 

Alberto Castillo doubles to RF.

Tim Raines, Jr. strikes out swinging. One out.

Steve Watkins grounds out, 6-3. Two out.

Kenny Kelly singles to LF, Castillo out at home plate, 7-2.

In the bottom of the 6th in Daytona, Jonathan Mota walks, Jemel Spearman singles (to break up the no-hitter!) and Chris Robinson (his first in the Cubs organization) hit a 3-run HR. Ryan Harvey is 0 for 1 with a walk. In the bottom of the 7th, Daytona is down 5-3.

the i-cubs were having autographed ball night at the ballpark tonight, so i headed down (didn't stay for the game). i used two tickets to get two baseballs (wrapped in a brown bag). i declared one to be mine and opened it....AROD!!! sure beats the cliff bartosh i got last year. brought the other one back for my friend...jae kuk ryu.

 

i picked the right bag. :D

the i-cubs were having autographed ball night at the ballpark tonight, so i headed down (didn't stay for the game). i used two tickets to get two baseballs (wrapped in a brown bag). i declared one to be mine and opened it....AROD!!! sure beats the cliff bartosh i got last year. brought the other one back for my friend...jae kuk ryu.

 

i picked the right bag. :D

 

Too bad you don't have the same luck with the baseball teams you root for.

West Tenn is now losing 1-0 in the bottom of the 6th. The Jaxx have been no-hit so far. Castellanos: 6 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 6 BB, 5 K.

 

Daytona now down 5-4 in the top of the 9th. Solid effort in relief for Grant Johnson: 2.1 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 K. Ryan Harvey is now 0 for 2 with a walk.

 

Boise with an early 1-0 lead in the middle of the first on an RBI double for Russ Canzler.
