Just noticed that FSC is airing Europa League games this year. Liverpool is on at 1 Eastern tomorrow followed by Tottenham at 3.

I didn't watch the game, but a couple of friends of mine who happen to be Anderlecht fans were very pleased with Sacha Kljestan's performance yesterday.

Dempsey starting for Spurs today.

Had a goal, two assists and two penalties not called or called back by a horrible, horrible job of officiating.

Yeah, should have been a solid 2-0 win for Spurs. Dempsey's header absolutely should have been a goal and Caulker's should also. Lennon played well but he always seemed to make a poor touch at a crucial time when he got close to or in the box. Overall, pretty pleased with how Spurs played.

This is from the Asian Champions League quarterfinal match in Iran. Fans were throwing stuff on the field. Including a grenade. The midfielder tosses it away like it's a piece of trash....not realizing what it was....

Jesus. I saw the wide shot, but didn't realize a player had picked it up and tossed it. Literally under a half a second from ruining this guy's life.

Or ending it.

Iran and Saudi Arabia really do not like each other... and that guy was on the home team.

Not only are there three pretty good fixtures next weekend (Chelsea at Arsenal, Man City at Fulham and Tottenham at Man United), but they're all on at different times.

The Dutch have a lame sense of humor, but this clip is awesome for the Jozy goals alone:

It's striking how when you watch his goals this season, it's like watching men playing boys. So effortless. I'm getting more and more in the tank for Jozy. His lack of goals on the Nats is on his teammates and the tactical set up, not him.

Jozy and Juergen have beef:

Q 4: Jozy Altidore [...] doesn't seem to be getting much service. What can you do to get him more chances?

Klinsmann: "The Dutch league is very open -- he gets three or four chances a game. In international games, there's less space. It's hard to get chances; you have to create them yourself. Yes, you always want people to feed your strikers who are good at finishing, but on the other hand, when teams are locked in, you have to work, work, work and force your luck, and sooner or later you'll get rewarded for that. I think Jozy can do a lot better, and he knows that.

And then:

The full interview is up at ESPN's Soccernet. And it does nothing but further my sense of "we've made a huge mistake". Yes, blame the striker for your useless midfield lineups and choices.

And of course he opens his account and plays way better after my knee jerk post.

Hanging on by a thread, though. The 5 minute stretch there that went Nani goal/Clint goal/Kagawa goal/Rooney post was nuts.

Its on glorious SD on FSC here in Chicagoland.

Haha, thanks. Got it here too.

[expletive].

Well it ain't gonna change anytime soon. That sucks. Not sure who's to blame. Klinsy's right, but his tactics have been hit or miss, so Jozy is right too. Hopefully this is a nothing.

Dempsey hasn't been a bad fit. He's had to adjust to having less freedom to roam, but you can see where he fits as a starter in a central winger type role. Just a matter of getting on same page with AVB but you can see them getting there with each game.
