As dumb as I think JK is, I do not believe he's made up his mind 3 weeks before qualifiers that Landon Donovan isn't a better option than Graham Zusi.

In other news, Wigan are relegated and Spurs remain 5th; they're away to Newcastle and have to lose and Spurs have to win this weekend to finish 4th.

Arsenal draw and Spurs win would also be enough. As an Arsenal fan I am getting tired as [expletive] as watching them suck for half of a season only to get hot and finish 3rd or 4th. Would rather Clint get a shot in the CL.

Yeah, Spurs getting the draw with Chelsea made that scenario (Arsenal tie, Spurs win) possible. So only two games matter this weekend - Sunderland/Tottenham and Arsenal/Newcastle.

Wigan also became the first team ever to win the FA Cup and get relegated in the same season. Early second half, when it was 1-1 and Wigan was taking it to Arsenal, I thought they were going to get the job done.

D'oh. You're right; a draw at St. James' Park would be enough with a Spurs win.

I admire your optimism. I think he has. He's nuts.

Arsenal and Chelsea ending up in a perfect tie for 3rd would be pertty awesome, forcing a playoff for the auto Champions League spot.

@sidlowe: Juan Mata currently holds the Europa League, Champions League, European U-21, European Championship, and World Cup titles.

Welp. That's pretty [expletive] awesome.

@BrianSciaretta: Hearing more positive news on John Anthony Brooks to the USA - backed up by the fact he was NOT named to the German U21 roster for Euros

Becks retired. Expect MLS expansion in Miami and NY within two years, with Becks as Miami owner.

No Donovan or Dolo(is that one a surprise? I thought he was back from injury). Holden gets an invite though.

Man that midfield looks thin without Landon. More [expletive] passive aggressive message sending. It's DEFINITELY not about form when Shea and Holden get callups and Lando doesn't.

Its just him trying to prove a point. I understand Shea has done well for him in the past some, but nothing the past 6+ months.

Real Madrid melts down better than any other team in sports.

That's great news.

Will a 2nd try in Miami actually work? Though it wasn't exactly in Miami the first time.

No. No it won't.

I really don't believe we'll head into the qualifiers without Landon. The "week to week" crap that JK was babbling on about would seem to me be about JK giving himself an out.

Clint in the starting lineup today.

Go Spurs. Go Newcastle.

That was a shameful call. Not only to not award the penalty but to give Bale a yellow also.

Just can't score. This is incredibly frustrating.
