Man City, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and AC Milan all lost today.

Crazy day. Milan isn't too surprising but the other three are.

City's in some serious trouble and basically has to win out to have a shot at advancing (two wins and a draw could get them through with eight points but it's far from likely).

US Soccer accepted an invite to the 2016 Copa America. YESSS.

And host as well. 100X better. They will have no choice but to send the A team.

Could realistically be Messi's last chance to win a major tournament for Argentina. Legacy defining stuff. I'm extremely happy about this.

I don't think there is any way Dallas is not a host city for this. Of course I will probably get stuck with Mexico, Columbia or Guatamalla. Still very exciting stuff, plus having the Euro's on right before it.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that qualifying for the Champions League is the equivalent of winning a trophy at a fiery Annual General Meeting with the club's supporters on Thursday morning.

:banghead: :banghead: Arsenal and the Cubs really should have a joint accounting venture together.

ESPN and Fox lost their Premier League rights. No word yet on who got them. Probably Bein. God I hope not. I never thought I'd say this, but ESPN's soccer product is fantastic. Also, without the EPL, FSC is screwed. I really hope NBC got them and not Bein.

Disappointing. I hope ESPN can work a similar deal with Beinm that the deal with FSC under the last deal.

Sounds like it's NBC. No problem with that. Really like their MLS stuff. I'll miss Ian Darke.

I'd like to see this lead to ESPN doing more with MLS.

I'm surprised at this. NBC must have thrown silly money at it.

http://epltalk.com/2012/10/26/fox-soccer-and-espn-drop-out-of-us-bidding-war-for-epl-tv-rights-nbc-universal-is-frontrunner/

“Sources say NBC’s bid would pay the EPL around $83M per year, an amount that would more than triple the $23M per year that Fox currently pays. Sources say Fox and ESPN have been told that their joint bid was not accepted. It is not clear if the Al Jazeera network, BeIN Sport, still is in the running. The emergence of NBC Universal as the clear front-runner in this bidding process comes as a surprise. In the weeks leading up to the bidding process, NBC sources downplayed the company’s interest.”

I think NBC correctly sees that most literate sports fans have no use for ESPN, and if they invest in the right properties, they can build a legitimate alternative.

They've done a nice job with MLS games so far.

Also, the Fire/DC game was nuts. Chicago still can't finish, but they look far better in not-finishing than they used to. Playoffs are gonna be nuts this year. #allin

I was on the phone and just stopped mid-sentence during that 90th minute sequence. Hamid's two big saves were incredible too.

Suarez robbed of the winner in the last minute.

Should have been sent off 20 mins before.

Not to mention him being a douche after his first goal. I wish him and Balotelli could be teammates.

Dempsey with a goal today too.

-Suarez's dive celebration today after his first goal, in front of Moyes, was awesome.

-Chelsea, whom I in general don't like, got absolutely bent over today by the ref. I also thought someone in their technical area was about to deck SAF.

Spurs have a few really selfish players between Bale, Defoe and Lennon.

Bale and Lennon will at least attempt to create for others. Defoe will just put his head down and shoot if he's within 25 yards of goal. He's empty calories; the Sharif Abdur-Raheem of the EPL.
