Spurs have a few really selfish players between Bale, Defoe and Lennon.

Bale and Lennon will at least attempt to create for others. Defoe will just put his head down and shoot if he's within 25 yards of goal. He's empty calories; the Sharif Abdur-Raheem of the EPL.

Yeah, Defoe definitely has a shoot first, shoot second, shoot third, pass fourth mentality.

-Chelsea, whom I in general don't like, got absolutely bent over today by the ref. I also thought someone in their technical area was about to deck SAF.

The second yellow on Torres was terrible. If you were going to card anyone, it should have been the ManU player (Evans, I think) but no whistle was necessary. And then to not card Rooney for blatantly dragging down a Chelsea player, which would have been a red, was crazy also.

-Suarez's dive celebration today after his first goal, in front of Moyes, was awesome.

That was hilarious. Especially after Moyes' self-righteousness regarding diving was later turned into a farce when his captain was yellow-carded for diving as egregiously as Suarez ever has (and Suarez certainly has, don't get me wrong).

Feel like Dempsey playing centrally underneath Adebayor would be exactly what they need.

This is a good article about why Gareth Bale is overrated: http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/40748/just-how-overrated-is-gareth-bale

I know there's a chance that they rest a bunch of starters because it's the League Cup but Chelsea and ManU play again on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal was down 4-0 after 37 minutes in the League Cup today against Reading but came all the way back with goals in the 89th and 95th minute to tie. They scored in the first period of extra time and now lead 5-4.

EDIT: Holy crap. Reading tied it up with about 5 minutes left and Walcott just won the game in the 120th minute. Chamakh scored right at the end to make it 7-5.

Great game.

Clint in the lineup today against Norwich in the League Cup.

It was a pretty crappy penalty also.

In other news, Chelsea just knocked ManU out with a 5-4 win after extra time. 3-3 after regulation before Chelsea scored twice in extra time to win it.

Missed a crucial, game-tying pk.

Doesn't have his mojo in the Spurs shirt. Not enough freedom to roam. Looked livelier earlier though.

He should really stop taking PKs. Anyone with access to any video knows he's going to shoot hard, either dead center or slightly left or right of center. No variance, ever.

Landon Donovan should retire or take a break or whatever, that's fine. I just want him to stop talking about it. Also, if he wants to broadcast, developing a personality would help.

I quit watching that at 3-2, no idea this happened.

Hertha Berlin’s John Anthony Brooks, who holds dual-citizenship, says he’d rather play for the U.S., despite his more recent call-up to Germany’s U-20 camp in August. “The United States is still my first choice,” the 6-foot-7 defender and ASN 100 November debutante said. “Playing for the German team was O.K. but America was a lot better. My father would like me to play for the United States but he said it was my decision.”

You're not feeling gridiron nostalgia?

I enjoy the reminder of how far the league has come.

Its a nice juxtaposition; the yellow lines and the much, much improved quality of play.

RSL is so great to watch. If I could watch any one team play, it would be them; maybe KC. They control the ball so well through the midfield and Saborio is a beast. If Luis Gil keeps developing...

WIFF by Estrada. Seattle snake bit in the playoffs. 0 playoff goals in Montero's 600ish playoff mins.

Sucks that they keep running into RSL and Rimando in the playoffs. The one team that wouldn't get rattled at CLink.

And LOLZ at Ned Grabavoy starting beef against Alonso. He was a wiener at Lincoln Way, and he's still a wiener.

Old school (relative) hate tomorrow. We got Olsen's grinders vs the New Jersey glamour squad.

If Backe starts Marquez in mf instead of Dax, they'll have problems. Unfortunately DeRo won't be there to punish him. 2-1 NYRB.

I got DCU in this one. Backe is a crap coach, and will do something dumb to cost them.
